Très ambieux, cependant saejima MDRRRRRR

clusterfuck in terms of story development, fact which for whatever reason i still enjoyed???
the random enemy encounters are really fucking annoying but otherwise this is a pretty solid entry

This is probably my least favourite story in the Yakuza series but I do love all of Kiryu's bit and some of the side-stories are excellent and help pick up the slack.

Yakuza 5 Remastered is an absolute beast of a game, and a wild ride from start to finish. You play as five different characters, each with their own unique cities and combat styles to master. The story is classic Yakuza: absolutely bonkers, twisty, and hilarious. There's a ton of side content, from rhythm games to taxi driving, and it'll keep you busy for hours. If you want that over-the-top Japanese crime drama experience, Yakuza 5 delivers, but prepare for a long, and sometimes overwhelming, journey.

It was the biggest piece of dog sh*t I've ever heard.

post this shinada when you least expect it

going from the saejima section to the haruka section was one of the funniest things ever

Kiryu manteve sua virgindade intacta

Holy god, is this game huge. 5 playable chareters, playable HARUKA, , so much going on. The story kept me guessing and I really enjoyed newbie Shinada the goat. I hope he is living his best life. I dont really like Baba but he gave us I believe in you so its an even trade. So Much More is unironically one of my favorite songs period.

Also Majima death announcement over the Taxi radio had be literally like "Kiryu cares so much", this game handles its huge cast so well for the most part

there's a lot to say about this

combat is great and there's really cool parts of a story in there but it feels like they tried way too many things that just don't work too well and the game feels aimless and bloated because of it

still cool overall but it's a bit of a mess

I've been a long time fan of the Yakuza games since the original on the PS2 but Yakuza 5 is where the magic is starting to wear off for me. When I think properly about it, it's better than 3 and 4 but there's just so much fluff making this game run on at least 15 hours longer than it needs to.

The gimmick of having 4 (or 5, this time!) main characters just ends up leading to a convoluted story where I'll end up forgetting what yakuza conspiracy is going on now or who most of the side characters are.

In the moment the melodrama is interesting, but most of the cast don't really get a satisfying wrap-up and I ended up forgetting why I was meant to care about half of the plot threads that took a little too long to intertwine.

Plus Yakuza combat has kind of never been good, so I'm looking forward to catching up to 7 / Like A Dragon when it'll change completely!

was alright, had some cool moments,

some of it is peak yakuza some of it is shit saejima's section is boring af same for haruka who thought making a story which is only dancing minigames is a good idea thank god akiyama came in i love shinada but dear god his combat is shit also the story is a fucking mess especially with the whole majima thing i barely remember anything from the story lmao

it fucks and it sucks but the ending hits so hard you gotta give it credit for the shit it put you through

Best final boss fight in the series given to the worst final boss. Story overstays its welcome. Needed more Akiyama and less bear hunting. didn't care for Nippon Idol crap.

"Baba-chan"/ 10

would've gotten a 10 but my game bugged and Tatsuya disappeared from Saejima's section so I couldn't get every single substory :(

I can think of few Yakuza games with as much issues as Yakuza 5. From the messy and convoluted storyline; to the mostly weak antagonists, to its unwillingness to fully explore some of its subject matter. But I can also think of few Yakuza games I enjoyed as much as Yakuza 5. In terms of combat it's my favorite game behind Zero, the variety of its movesets and improved boss design from 4 made for so many enjoyable encounters. And the minigames are some of my favorite in the series. Taxi driving as Kiryu, hunting as Saejima, idol industry work as Haruka, baseball as Shinada; not only being mechanically enjoyable but are able to give some genuinely heartwarming stories that furthered my appreciation of the characters. But as I mentioned earlier I don't feel that positive when it comes to the main plot. Yakuza 5 has one of the most inconsistent plots in the series, having some of Yakuza’s best scenes along with one of its most messy storylines. Kiryu and Saejima’s parts have some great character work, but Saejima’s part suffers from pacing issues and the convoluted storyline. Haruka and Akiyama’s part was really fun to play, but is brought down by inconsistent character writing (Mrs Park and those two cunts from T-Set) and an unwillingness to fully explore the dark side of the idol industry. Shinada’s part was really fun because of how much I like Shinada and his relationship with Takasugi, but I didn't like a certain plot twist and the home run subplot started to bore me around the end. The final part puts on display a lot of these issues I mentioned, yet when I played that final chapter I left the game feeling really satisfied. It's a touching resolution for the main characters that puts on display what makes each of them so great, and it also includes two of my favorite boss fights of the series so far. This game is such a perfect encapsulation of what Yakuza is, flaws and all. And while I wish some things about it were different, I still had a great time playing through it, and it reminded me yet again what makes these games so special.

It's hard to give a concrete opinion on this Yakuza game, unlike Yakuza 3, which was obviously bad, or Yakuza 0, which was very good. This game was okay. The plot was interesting but nothing extraordinary, and the new characters lacked charisma. It's a good game, for sure, but it's not a memorable one.

I thought this part would never end, because there are 5 full-fledged main characters and a damn Santa Barbara in the plot. In essence, this is a continuation of part 4 and the completion of the stories and characters introduced in the four. This game has everything from realistic taxi driving to hunting a grizzly killer, not to mention part of the company with Haruka, where in essence it is one big rhythm game. One of the non-standard parts about the yakuza from the entire line and that’s its charm.

masterpiece. greatest of all time.

I don’t know how else to talk about Yakuza 5 other than saying it might just be the biggest game ever made.

it almost felt like i was playing yakuza 0 again because when things happened to the characters i actually cared

park my love. all protags r good. i loved how they all overlapped at the end. its 4am as im writing this. the last boss took me 40 minutes and im still mad but the final cutscenes made up for it i think i still havent really processed it. u can make haruka dress up as hatsune miku so its automatically peak i guess.
