Classic phone game that I used to play all the time. I even did the thing where you design bases to make them as defendable as possible. Now I don't really play it as much and have gotten annoyed by all the different game mechanics that were added with builder bases and clan bases. But the attacking is fun and it is fun to build up your base as strong as possible, I have gotten up to Town Hall 14.

any game that makes you wait for stuff then offers you to pay to not wait is automatically garbage

Definetely a good game as far as strategy games go on a mobile device. School breaks were fun with a game like this on a phone.

I never understood the appeal of this game, even as a dumb kid ignorant to the greedy and exploitative practices in the game. Attacking was never something I found fun, I only found the base building appealing and even that gets ruined by pay-to-win and comically long wait times. I personally see no reason to ever spend time on this game again when far better titles that have at least an ounce of respect for the consumer exist.

Decent game for like 15-30 minutes a day. If you are in a clan with some friends it can be quite enjoyable. Don't spend money on any offers, maybe buy the gold pass every once in a while. If you just keep playing for a few years you will catch up sooner or later.
