Don’t get me wrong, Fallout New Vegas is still an excellent video game and a shining example of creativity when it comes to the open world genre, but some elements haven’t aged brilliantly. The controls are clunky at times and, especially in the beginning, this is a very slow game. Also, even given the style and the time period it was made in, some of the graphics and elements in the game look atrocious. The story is a bit weak in places but fairly strong overall making for a good experience for most gamers.

God, I wish I played this sooner. This game has become one of my favorite games of all time and managed to knock off some of my long standing favorites off the charts. It’s my first time through, and I went ahead and sided with Yes Man. I’ll admit, it’s been nothing but an enjoyable journey for me. Most days I literally just want to play New Vegas and I haven’t really had an open world game spark this much joy within me? I love wandering the Mojave and just doing things...
I think the writing is amazing. The fact that the issues in this game are really nuanced and require some thought and aren’t just purely evil/good is just... Man!! Also damn a lot of the companion quests were fuckin amazing, love them all. I feel the DLCs also add a lot to the experience and I can’t see myself going without playing them, they’re all really great and even if there’s one I don’t like as much (HH) I’d still play it again. I keep thinking about them.
My one gripe with this game is THE BUGS. The bugs completely fucked up my experience at times, and lead to a lot of frustration, broken quests, quests being stuck in a loop, just stuff like that. I’m not joking, to me, if this wasn’t as buggy, it’d be a flawless game in my eyes.
If you haven't played this yet, play this once in your life, please. It's a fantastic experience.
