Another banger pokemon game that actually improve from the prior gen 4 game

pretty fun but it has progression issues after the whole bomb plot point and the constant slingshotting from location to location without any good way to backtrack is v annoying and the plot is kinda flimsy but overall i still think its a solid region and a classic

One of the best Pokémon games! Fixes almost everything wrong with Diamond and Pearl while adding a ton of new content and some moments that are super cool when you’re 10 years old playing it. The definitive Sinnoh experience and it’s not close

Gen 4 is for me a mixed bag, it plays very slow, many pre- and new evolutions to previous existing PKMN bother me, but it also can shine very bright. For example the starter lineup even outclasses Gen 3, the Battle Frontier is added in Platinum (big plus for me), the new region is cool (literally), easily the best champ fight in the series thus far, and the extra plot w in Platinum is fire. I really think this game challenges Emerald for the number one spot but it isn’t quite there. Nevertheless a very good PKMN one of the strongest.

Decently challenging game, which is what the series as a whole lacked in later games. Very fun gameplay, decent story and all around a great Pokemon game.
Idk if its because people hyped this game much but after playing it I felt a bit disappointed. It just felt like a normal pokemon game, nothing it did made me jump out my seat. I have no nostalgia for this game so maybe its that

i think the reason why a lot of people love this is because they grew up with it. you are always going to see 20 somethings praising the shit out of this game and yes, there is a pattern. not to say it's bad by any means, but i feel it undeniable that gen 4 is incredibly overrated. the selection of pokemon will have you making the same team over and over, i guarantee that everyone who beat this game sported at least 3 pokemon that were also on everybody else’s team. the region leaves a lot to be desired, sinnoh is incredibly uninspired and has little to call its own. it's alright

The only good way to play through the mainline gen 4 story. The gen 4 engine still sucks and is way too slow, but platinum fixes most of the other design issues from diamond and pearl while adding new content.
this game took the sinnoh games and elevated them to greatness. it’s not the best but it’s second for sure
First pokemon game i played. lot of nostalgia, great soundtrack, awesome visuals for the time. extra point for finding my first shiny in this game.

The first pokemon game that I ever played, I remember my dad bought me a R4 Flashcard with some games on it and one of those games was Pokemon Platinum. Oh boy there was times that I went to school looking like a zombie due to my late night gaming session while playing this game

best pokémon game i've played yet, sinnoh is definitely my favorite region! there's so much stuff to do and i love the lore, characters and story in this game. the region design is AMAZING, a big step up compared to hoenn which i didn't like very much. honestly there's not a lot of bad things in this game, and when there is the good outweighs the bad imo
slow as can be despite some improvements and sinnoh just is not a good region. some great postgame if you can manage to get there but sinnoh remains uninspiring
Out of all the Pokemon games I played I think platinum has the most strategic battles , A boring story that takes itself waaay too seriously , Tough as nails champion and Gym leaders and my absolute favorite legendary

if you hit a blissey with close combat you can go to the store and run some errands in the time it takes for the hp bar to reach zero
By far the best of the Generation IV games, it improves on all the flaws of the Diamond and the Pearl
I got stuck on the water gym for 3 months as a kid because I chose chimchar, if it weren’t for that this game would be 5 stars
