Sentient horror video game is kind of a gimmick but this doesn't do half bad with it. I think its levity keeps it from being as corny as Inscryption but that game has a whole lot more fun with the "designer within the game" idea. I hope Mullins finds different material.
Pony Island is one of the first games that really blew my mind n the "Wait, video games can do that?!" type of way. It threw me off my feet multiple times with its puzzles, distractions, and genre bending themes.
This is such an easy recommend for anyone who want to explore what it means to be a video game, and want to see something unique no one has done before.
Daniel Mullins is an absolute genius.

What you need to master it:
☒ Collectibles
☐ Ability
☐ Play online
☒ Complete the main story
I liked it, the plot twist and the history is so good. Without a guide it's to difficult to master it.
Achievements and guides:
- 'The Full Truth': This guide is the only one that worked for me
- 'That's The Ticket!'

Ehhhh, aside from its premise there really isn't much here. The gameplay is never engaging (which is fine if the game had something else going for it) but there's very little that held my interest past the first 20 minutes or so.
Its only a bit over 2 hours so at least it doesn't overstay its welcome. But without any real positives to speak of, its still longer than what feels worth playing.
