Amazing online open world with a really iconic aesthetic. Playing alone sucks though but it can be a chill experience to grind it out too. It has one of the best water systems (sea/ocean) physics I've seen. Quests are a bit too repetitive and enemies come either in extremely easy waves in the islands or a complete obstacle that disrupts your game completely (kraken and ghost ship). I just feel there is some content missing in this game but I can't tell what.
A nearly perfect open-world high stakes movement shooter with amazing naval combat. The progression systems still feel lacking, but that hasn't stopped me from logging over 600 hours. The hand to hand pvp combat is by far the weakest part of the game. Riddled with extremely powerful animation cancels and exploits that aren't explained in game. However, Rare has started to patch out these problems one by one and the pvp looks to be heading in the right direction.
This game is amazing. There is no other game like it, with its PvPvE gameplay where you actually feel like your living in its world. The art style is timeless, the music is fantastic. It still gets regular large updates. I think the developers (Rare) are great they are transparent and seem to really care about the game. Its not just a regular multiplayer game, you can play it however you want. Do you want to be super competitive, do hourglass and be aggressive. Do you want to just chill and get some money, do some regular voyages for merchant or even tall tales such as the amazing Pirates of the Caribbean crossover.
