Played it a while ago and loved it. It's visually amazing and captivating. My only regret is playing it as casually as I did, because the story really drags you in and feels like a movie, but for that you have to pay attention —which I didn't—.
My advice: PLAY IT, it's a great experience, but don't play it while chatting with friends on Discord or you won't enjoy it as much. I'll probably replay it soon.

I had to sit with this one for a few days. It's such a good game if you want a simple and moving 3-4 hour experience.
Pros: One of two strong points of this game, is the breathtaking environment. I must've taken close to 50 screenshots in a 3 hour experience. The graphics obviously aren't the most realistic thing you'll see in your life, but the color and the overall vibe WILL hit you, I'm sure.
The second thing which sold the game to me, is the incredible voice acting and interesting dynamic of the two main characters, Henry and Delilah. Seriously the voice acting makes the whole game feel so real, and it adds a lot to the vibe.
The music is amazing, but I would've liked to hear more. It plays out of nowhere at some points in the game, and those scenes hit you, but there are very few moments that you hear it.
Cons: Every problem I have with this game goes back to it being overly simple. But the thing is that I think that was the purpose, and it could work perfectly for some people. The story is nice and simple, but in the end nothing really happens that would move you. I would've also liked to see just one gameplay mechanic that would make the game more unique. The game is only you walking around using a map and talking to Delilah over a radio, again the simplicity could be what sells it for some people, but maybe adding one mechanic so that navigation would be a bit more memorable or something. Overall, great experience and something you look back at fondly for some time but a bit lacking.

i havent revisited this game since i first played it back in 2017.. it is just as beautiful and engaging as i remember. it spoke to me a lot back then and playing it now after i have experienced more life than i had when i was 17 i can grasp a lot more of what these two are going through and the complexities of their relationships and behaviors, and it means something new and different to me now.
the performances and the tight dialogue in this game are so fantastically written, and the story and themes explored are really hard hitting. i also really think the map design is excellent, getting to see the different vistas and the way they all connect is very smartly designed.
this game also makes me love our national parks and i feel like it’s time to visit yellowstone again. thank you, firewatch

I truly have never played a game like this. Even though it seems to be a pretty common idea of basically saying this is a walking simulator, I think myself and everyone else agrees that while true, this offers something much more. The general feel of this is super nice and I was invested the entire time, and it truly is because of both main voice-actors doing incredible performances and line readings. Both of them truly carry the weight of what makes this game good.
I do admire the look of the game and I won't lie when I say the ending did shock me a little bit, but I am more disappointed that there wasn't something more with the two central characters. That was what I cared about the most and the story went a separate way - which I still liked - I just wanted more of Henry and Delilah. I can see why so many love this game and I did enjoy it, but the conclusion seemed a little less than what I had dreamed. Slight recommendation.
