One of the best games ever made.
Where do I even start, banging soundtrack, amazing sound design, top tier/unique art direction/style, top notch animation, has some of the best designs you’ll ever see, creative writing, great direction
Highly influenced by Twin Peaks (David Lynch), Stanley Kubrick, The X-Files, and SCP Foundation (Very old horror community and still going, nothing like it anywhere)
I mean I literally explored everything in the main game & DLCs, read every file and saw every secret location/easter egg and btw most aren’t even part of the trophies you just have to find them/figure it out and I have zero regrets doing it all (hell one of them was discovered by one person only! it’s in AWE dlc)
Even listened to every recording and watched all of the videos in the game (it has a looot)
Why I did it ? because It expands the universe of Sam lake/Remedy games perfectly and explains a lot of things about control plot and other weird/unique stuff in that world
Also the way Control connects to Alan Wake is just genius (Sam Lake is on a different level than anyone else)
Jesse character (MC) shined by the end of the game, her dialogue represented her personality perfectly and it was very enjoyable to see her journey (I can’t wait for the continuation for more details)
Remedy talent is also on a whole different level, the physics are insane nothing I’ve ever seen in any game and don’t think anyone will come close to that amount of detail and also since the game exploration comes in the form of Metroidvania they put lots of effort into designing the oldest house map and I loved going through it all
Gameplay is very fun and keeps getting better and better every time you get something new, whether it’s abilities or gun play or weapon/personal mods (it can get pretty fast and chaotic which I love a lot)
Fun fact : Trench is voice/acted by James McCaffrey (Max Payne & Thomas Zane) and Darling is voice/acted by Matthew Porretta (Alan Wake)
