2024 Plans But I'm Sensible This Time

Several months back I made a 2023 watchlist for stuff I wanted to do. Thing is, I deleted it not too long after since I didn't really keep up with it and didn't want somethin like that hanging on me like a millstone. This is also the reason I retired my "Middening" list cause the point for it has long since evaporated.

I still doubt I'll like, do Everything here, but I realize it's better to keep it concise and less ambitious/grand in what I wanna write about, especially since I hit a few different burnout periods this year. 8 different IP entries should be fine, yea? Not in any real order...

Alright so before properly starting, gonna include the titles i didn't get to finish in 23 that I'll likely finish this time!

Well, I know for sure I'll finish BG&E and RoF. EOHD Collection though? Hmmmm, that's three meaty games right there.... maybe if burnout doesn't hurt me so bad...
This is like the 5th or so time I said it but yea, want to finally do this at some point. I have GemRB set up and Larian's usual patch cycle (which is still very :/ to witness but what can ya do) means this can be doable at some point finally.
ON THAT NOTE, I dunno if this will be before or after BG3, but since I'm obsessed with roots I want to try and see some of the inklings of the Belgian studio's foundations. Not uh, all of it though, just Divine and Dragon Knight Saga for now, with OS1&2 as Strong Maybes, and the rest being for the future.
I am pretty bummed I didn't achieve my original goal of completing the Core Era of TR titles, but honestly I'm just surprised I was able to do the LAU era, OG II, and half if its Golden Mask expansion! This was also on top of the surprise reveal of the first three games getting remastered, to which a few mutuals even went and told me "yea I thought of you when it popped up" which was heartwarming despite being a fresh blood lol <3

I'm NOT doing the same overachieving mark this time though, but I do hope to continue digging into the ruins... double meaning unfortunately. Why is this franchise so cursed with development issues?
OK so this is an oddball entry. This is really a stand-in for all of CAVE's titles, not just Ketsui, since they're the STG devs I'm most interested in atm as well as being the easiest to emulate or even purchase to my liking. Doubt I'll sufficiently play them long enough to feel comfortable in slotting them onto my journal, but I'll give it a shot.
And this'll be it in terms of priorities. I feel like I always do one big Important To Me type of spiel and I've been meaning to sit my ass down and replay BoF3 for a while now, so it fits the glove nicely.

Though that said, I'm also indecisive about whether I'll just 4 and Dragon Quarter afterwards, or do all of them at some point in the year. Who knows!
Late addition (I'm writing this not too long after making this list live), but if Ketsui was more so a spot for CAVE, then I should have an actual IP spot.

With GTA 6 now being announced, I feel like it's time to do some unfinished business. I've played 3, San Andreas, and IV but never to full completion, so I wanna fix that. And of course, there's all the other mainline titles as well... and Red Dead 1&2....... and Bully....... but yk one thing at a time here!
