It's an amazing game. Lands in my top 6 of all time. The choice and consequence in this game is some of the best out there, I'd say it surpasses fallout NV in that department. The voice acting is top tier. A lot of content that isn't at all procedurally generated. Combat is also pretty nice. Took me 100 hours to complete main and most sidequests. Just a very nice DND styled RPG that truly defines that gene.
BUT it still has its share of major flaws:
- No post death cutscenes, not even for most major/minor antagonists sucks. The battle feels unrewarding. All that shit talking from that dude but I don't get to reply after beating him up? Meh
- A lot of really good loot is given right near the endgame. Doesn't really serve much purpose other than for the final battle which is very easy regardless. Needs a NG+ option for this.
-The progression with companions becomes gradually slower it feels, dialogue doesn't change as much in act 3 as it did in acts 1 & 2.
-Game is full of bugs. Had at least 20-30 crashes through my playthrough and got around 7 of them in one day, almost made me want to quit. Another reptitive bug where a character in shroud gets stuck in an infinite initiative loop forcing me to reload a prev save.
- Overall plot is mediorce, nothing too fancy. The final battle with the netherbrain is full of generic corny dialogue. Didn't like that fight.
- Raphael should've been the final antagonist.
- Moving around the map is very slow.
- The choices with the emperior and orpheus were pretty shit.
Despite the flaws, it still does good enough overall to get a 5/5, which is a crazy feat.
