Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is a s great game not amazing but gosh darn it, this game is why I love Spider-Man. Throughout my playthrough, I encountered 4 game crashes, 3 collision glitches, and 6 mission glitches but to say that this game is bad is far from it. Spider-Man 2 is a heartfelt game that has found a special place in my heart.
My initial impressions of the game still hold strong, as it serves as a great sequel with gameplay that truly shines. Nonetheless, it's important to acknowledge that this game isn't imperfect. The storyline, at times, felt like it dragged on during the second act and third. Additionally, the abilities of Spider-Man in this installment seemed like a step back from the previous games. While the character abilities remain solid, the web-based abilities were just bad and such a downgrade especially from the first game.
Also maybe nitpicking but during my playthrough, I chose to wear the TASM 2 suit for Peter and the Across the Spider-Verse suit for Miles, though I would have loved to use the Into the Spider-Verse suit for Peter as well. Unfortunately, it just wasn't there, like you couldn't have extracted the model from the first game into this game. I don't know man just felt so strange to me why the didn't include it. I mean sure we have Spider-Man noir from Into the Spider-verse but it's just not the same.
Overall though, If you've enjoyed the first two games in the series, I'm confident you'll find this one just as good. I feel like this game will come to PC because of how the first two games did and when it does I will definitely play it again, it's truly remarkable how Insomniac Games, known for their work on Ratchet & Clank, has ventured into this ambitious project, and they deserve all the credit for their accomplishments. I'd rate this game a solid 9/10 aka S-tier game.
