what's there to like: i like the new games, i like that the practice mode gives you instructions on-the-beat if you need it.
i like having everything in one place...

but this game drags on. and on. it takes hours to get past what feels like the tutorial, the final product in the end feels bloated and hard to navigate...

the easiest of the bunch and the most fun to play casually. best one to play first in my opinion.

Not my first play of this game, First play on original hardware more than a decade ago, current play was with the "touchless" romhack.

This game is great, if played on real hardware, in the manner intended. it's packed full of charm and great music. the touch screen controls are great and intuitive, but way too difficult to perform with a mouse on an emulator.

If you're going to play it "touchless" there's still some merit here, though some games are much more difficult, mostly it feels more disconnected.

Highly recommended either way. Best as the second one you play I think.

The series starts with a banger. I played this one on original release and i remember the feeling of a wholly new gaming experience. a rhythm game that wasn't just notes on a staff.

it's a good one to start with even with the tighter timing window and more complicated controls. it's not the best in the series, but i also don't think it's the worst
