Really fun combat. Combat is more similar to GoW than Souls or Nier, but with the added emphasis on parrying. The last group of boss fights starting from the orbital elevator were great challenges. Pretty good exploration. Platforming was hit or miss at times due to Eve's momentum carrying her off platforms.
Story had potential to be good. Strange VO direction made dialog pretty bad most of the time. Clyde's (the fisherman) voice acting was pretty good.
Music was very good. Highlights are Eidos 7, Wasteland, and Desert Oasis.

Overall fun game. Lost steam at the end when trying to complete everything. Had the makings of a good story, but as usual Team Ninja didn't tell the story very well. Too many characters (who are you?) and picking sides didn't matter (always helped both sides in the end). Combat was very good when everything was flowing, but battling multiple opponents was frustrating. Especially when there are ranged enemies. Duals were where combat shined. Memorizing combos was a necessity to parry. Open world looked good, not great. Nice seeing the cites and castles in the distance. Not enough to do in the world.
Unfortunately did not surpass Nioh 2.

Way bigger scope than I imagined. They captured the open world perfectly with the big open zones. The new regional lore greatly improved the world building and made the world more alive. All of the characterizations of the characters were pretty spot on. Red's actual voice was a surprise.
Everything with the battle system was greatly improved over Remake and the synergy system was great once figured out. Which I had figured out synergy materia before the end of the game as that made battles a lot more fun.
Boss battles were all pretty good with some fun mechanics for some of them like Alexander and Odin. The Gilgamesh protorelic quest conclusion was very good. The Odin/Alexander and Phoenix/Kujata fights were pretty crazy as well as the fight with Gilgamesh.
Minigames galore! Queens Blood was a journey. It started out fun, then the mechanics kept piling on. Once I found a good deck able to destroy cards, replace cards, and boost destroyed/replaced cards, most battles became easy. The match against the Queen and the extreme survival Gold Saucer game required specialized decks. Only minigames I really disliked were the Gambit and Gears and chicken fetching one.
The final boss sequence was a spectacle with Jenova, Bizzaro Sephiroth, human Sephiroth, and having Zack as a partner. The ending was quite confusing though. Will have to rewatch and try to piece things together.
Music wise, favorites include: Hollow battle theme, main FF7 theme battle, Queen's Blood tournament final/Queen battle music, and Jenova Lifeclinger.

Amazing and beautiful open world. Best I've seen.
Overwhelming amount of things to do in the world.
Flying was a great surprise.
Slaughterspine music was the best.
One of the best parts was riding the Tallneck out the cauldron.
