This game oh boy.
Loved the story, all the ideas it throws at you, loved how the main characters actually had depth to them, loved to explore the cities. The approach to graphics was pretty clever, with the world being 3d and characters being sprites. The gameplay was fine for the 2/3 of the game and then it really started to grind my gears, with the constant random encounters and boring combo system (gear combat was a bit better since you need to manage fuel).

Overall a game totally worth playing, but the gameplay made it feel like a chore sometimes

It's great but not by the merit of devs, but by the community. But it's worth it only if you can play it with friends, otherwise it's a shitshow. If you can, then it's a great place to hang out (if you are into that), but also there thousands of unique maps to check out including actual games, pretty places to just breathe in, concept maps, and much more.

Never played the original so I was kinda excited to play the remaster and damn, I'm disappointed. While puzzles, most of the bossfights, atmosphere, and exploration is cool, I just can't stand platforming (sometimes you just slip up and bam go do section all over) and combat (felt too basic for me, just strafe and shoot until they die). Plus it's 2023, they really could've added ability to set markers or mark staff on the map that you scanned before for later exploration. Also maybe autosaves or a bit more save rooms.

Skill issue etc etc. Don't play if you don't enjoy games that punish you hard
