I played the beta back in 2021 and all I can say is... Battlefront II died for THIS? Shame.

Fun gameplay, stunning cutscenes, incredibly boring plot.

That was certainly a top tier LEGO game (and Star Wars game). Its replayability is a bit lackluster, as is its post-launch content, but the game delivered precisely what it needed to be. A modern LEGO game that adapts all nine films of the Star Wars saga. Hell, it even managed to make The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker somewhat enjoyable, which is saying a lot because they were fucking terrible movies lmao.

Yeah, that shit was a fuckin filler game. Barely contributed shit to the lore, and the gameplay was painfully clunky. I mean it’s alright, I guess, but it’s pretty clear that it was just thrown together to hold people over in the 3.5 years between Fallen Order and Survivor lmao.

Holy fuck, that basically took everything that made the first game amazing, and multiplied it tenfold. With bigger worlds to explore, more combat stances and Force powers, and a deeper story with far higher stakes, Jedi: Survivor was pretty much everything fans of Fallen Order could’ve wanted from a sequel. It continues the fantastic journeys of characters like Cal Kestis, Merrin, and Cere Junda, as well as introducing several great new characters, like Bode Akuna and Dagan Gera. Plus, there was a certain boss fight, you know the one, that was absolutely bloody incredible, in terms of not only the gameplay, but the emotional impact.

My only complaint is that there's no JoJo collab

I like that they actually made a lore-accurate version of Johnny in a fighting game, because he was absolutely useless in Eyes of Heaven, but he’s amazing in this game. And no, I’ve never played the original All-Star Battle, so I can’t really compare it to that.

ANYWAY, I like this game a lot. It’s quite fun. It has a lot of cool characters from across the JoJo saga, with relatively smooth gameplay, I’d say it’s a pretty good fighting game.

Wow, the game’s really stepped it up quite a bit. After Chapter 3 was was kinda… meh, in terms of both gameplay and lore, Chapter 4 has really solidified itself as one of the better seasons.

The battle pass lineup is pretty solid, with some mediocre skins making up some of the pass, as well as some fantastic skins, like the Doom Slayer, Geralt, and, of course, The Ageless, who is heavily implied to be a snapshot of Genō, the game’s overarching antagonist. I still don’t like the modern battle stars system, though.

In terms of gameplay, it’s absolutely phenomenal. The hammer is quite a fun and unique item, and it makes for some great mobility. The new augment system reminds me of the old Spy Games from Chapter 2 Season 2, and it’s really cool. And, of course, we have a surprisingly strong loot pool, consisting of returning favorites, such as the Machine Pistol and the fan-favorite SCAR, as well as a roster of new guns, including the Twin-Mag SMG, the Thunder Shotgun, the Glock-19X wit da stick mag, and more. Oh, and there’s also a fucking My Hero Academia mythic that can one-hit kill anything it touches lmao.

Side Note: Whoever runs this site should know that the picture you’re using as the cover of this, well, it’s not real.

I know the game is well over three years old, and I’ve beaten the story three times on three different platforms, but what better time to praise it infinitely than now, mere months before it’s sequel drops?

That being said, I absolutely adore this game. The cast of characters is predominantly new, unique, and likable, while you do meet a couple of familiar faces along the way. The locations are vast, expansive, and have plenty of hidden secrets to explore. The lightsaber combat is some of the best I’ve ever seen in a videogame before. And the story effectively showcases how broken people can overcome trauma and past mistakes, and that they still have a choice to be better. Plus, that amazingly horrifying final sequence when Darth fucking Vader shows up and tears apart anything in his path in an attempt to kill you, all while the Revenge of the Sith OST plays in the background? Just the cherry on top. chef’s kiss
