Mega Man X7's tutorial is so bad. You get calls in particular areas, and to answer them, you have to select R3. The opening stage explains the controls, but the stage itself goes on for too long. Once that's completed, Alia steps in, and this is where it gets obnoxious.

She gives a tutorial for everything including how to select a stage, but the most egregious is when you save the Reploid hostages. When rescued, some of them give you chips that'll upgrade one of the three characters. There are three categories for each character, and you can pick which one to upgrade. Now this would've been fine if Alia explained it once, but she does it every single time, with every single chip, with every single stage you've cleared/exited out of. So in reality, the tutorial still exists no matter how far you're into the game, and that gets annoying real fast.
