I really can't say how the original version of this was, but I'm sure it isn't too different in terms of gameplay; but this was a lot more engaging than I thought it would be. It has that old game feel of just not holding your hand for anything and lets you do whatever you feel like you should do. If anything, it can get pretty repetitive and the difficulty only really spikes towards the very end

The best thing about persona 2 is that it starts you on slow and builds up slowly, introducing a natural progression that the past game lacked. The story is pretty decent and made you feel something for literal 1x1 pixels on a screen. very quirky, very nice

Story was peak, but didn't really like how the central antagonist was kinda just shoehorned in at the end without any real build up. Sure that's what yakuza games do, but this just felt really forced as a means to find a compelling character. Overall, the game was challenging at parts while keeping a nice flow of progression. You can sing dame da ne so its kinda peak

Feels real nice to move around and gunplay is pretty swag

Have fun fighting every 2 seconds with awful layouts
