Haven't beaten it yet but this is the most fun I've had in VR in a long while

Amazing VR roguelite with gorgeous graphics and brilliant gameplay mechanics. You have telekinetic powers you can use to fling objects and enemies around as well as guns. The variety of levels is pretty slim and there are only a handful of different enemy types but it didn’t really bother me as throwing bad guys around and exploding barrels with my mind never stopped being fun.

Charming tactical adventure carried mostly by the charisma of the cast. Erina is a fun new adittion and Toshiro, althought a bit bland and cliched, has a nice arc. It's a risky decision to put a new character at the center of the whole narrative and its themes, but it works on a general level.

Combat is fun but by no means a future standard for the genre. I've not played a lot of tactical RPGs and I found myself completing most of the missions in 4 or 5 turns when the game rewards you for doing it in 8 or 9. The only ones that got me a little trouble where the one you have to complete in 1 turn, and most, if not all, are side missions. Other than the combat, the narrative unfolds visual novel-style, with no room for exploration aside from the menus, which I didn't mind.

Nice little game if you are a fan of the franchise, not as good as Strikers, but less of a time commitment.

the first game to let you play as a pimp, a convict, a virgin & a mahjong enjoyer

this game is broken, the story makes no sense, the boss fights are miserable

i fucking loved it

A fun power fantasy. Shooting mechanics are good and satisfying. Telekinesis feels awesome. Levels are a bit repetitive, before going in I thought it would be procedurally generated but they're not.
Worth a playthrough. I played through all the difficulties, but after you learn that the grenade launcher is overpowered, game becomes quite easy. Still fun. I recommend it.

This game has it all.

Story? Nonsense
Voice acting? “the Room” levels of dedication
Gameplay? Broken
Stability? Also broken
Mini games? Plenty? But also broken
Pacing? Nonexistent, especially the difficulty spike in the last chapter

It’s like if the deadly premonition team wanted to make ninja gaiden meets dead to rights.

I cannot recommend anyone buy this game, but they should definitely play it.

Good game minus that they removed the servers, so online is dead and so is 100%. It was a hefty long grind online to get 100% too.

Synapse throws platoons of standard soldiers, behemoths with couch-sized miniguns, a conga line of exploding goons, and Psycho Mantis-esque flying freaks at players at a relentless pace. It’s a constant barrage of gunfire, explosions, flying debris, and — in some cases — lasers from the sky. But despite those odds, they’re still no match for the player in Synapse — an engrossing power fantasy built around PlayStation VR2‘s intricacies.

I personally believe that MK11 had a strong roster, great story.

With that being said, it fell into the trap of Microtransactions. It advertises everything on the front page of the game now (Howarts Legacy and with the announcement, MK12) which while that 2nd one is annoying, the first is generally not as bad, unless you count the DLC characters and their cost. With Ultimate it's not so much of a problem, but even still, microtransactions and loot box mechanics are very much present.

Graphically the game is gritty as an MK game should be, the combos feel good, the tutorial is by far the best I've ever seen for new players to the series and fighting games in general. Fatal Blows, Crushing blows, fatailities, brutalities, friendship, there's a wide range of things to enjoy from a casual perspective.
