Interesting and engaging story. Characters were written well enough to were characters you’re supposed to like are likeable and characters who are supposed to be disliked are dis-likeable. I did like the photography aspect of the game but I do wish it was more interactive, maybe allowing the player to control the camera and take the photo themselves. Dialog a lot of the time felt forced or didn’t really feel real, or like actual people talking to one another. Sometimes it felt outdated even for 2015, and now playing this in 2024 makes it more glaring.
I love how David became a character you hate to someone you want a good ending for. I loved Kate’s storyline. I believed that they were going to take the route of not being able to stop her as kind of a message about suicide and how sometimes you can’t stop someone from making that choice even if you have superpowers like Max and I do believe that it would’ve been better that way.
I feel like they could’ve done a lot more with the whole time travel idea. Chloe’s death had no weight to it due to Warren wanting to take a photo with Max out of the blue 10 minutes prior. The entire twist ending was a shock in the moment but looking back it fairly obvious with the whole photographing the victims and Mr. Jefferson being a famous photographer. However, episode 5 and the entirety of the nightmare sequence was high for the game in my opinion. Being able to either sacrifice Arcadia Bay or sacrifice Chloe was a stressful but fun choice to make. Overall, I thought this was a fairly fun game. 7.1/10

This game could have been great if it weren’t for its major problems: making the game full price for so long even when 90% of the game was locked behind dozens of pay-walls, selling 70 different DLC packs (as of me writing this) totalling to nearly £1000 at retail price just to gain content which should’ve been given out for free or been there since launch, a tiny amount of styles for furniture, clothing and other sorts of things which locked you out of having full freedom to design whatever you’d like, locking you out of placing items in specific areas and resizing things unless you use cheats which would permanently disable achievements for that save file, and a lot more that I’m not even going to get into. 6/10
