Revisiting this game due to the next-gen update and overall I still really enjoyed myself. The world is easily my favourite to explore and get immersed in, combined with fun gunplay and a strong gameplay loop. Sadly it doesn't change the fact that the quests/dialogue and presentation of the lore of this game is overall poor. I made the effort to do the majority of the companion quests this time and there's some decent stuff there but it's a drop in the bucket. We genuinely need the gameplay of this game, combined with the writing quality and quest design of Fallout 1, 2 and NV.

I don't think I have enough brain cells to write something intelligent enough to explain how incredible this game is. And I know, it took me a very long time to get my hands on it, but here we are.

This and Elden Ring have pretty much killed the open world genre for me, and for very good reasons. Unsurprisingly this is a near perfect game, I have a few nitpicks but that's a me problem, and I truly wanna revisit it one day now that I am less ignorant about it.

Xenoblade Chronicles was the first JRPG i gave a fair chance and i absolutely fell in love with this game. I'm not really into this genre but Xenoblade absolutely sold me and i became a fan of this franchise.

Xenoblade Chronicles is a sprawling JRPG adventure set atop the frozen bodies of two colossal titans. Its battle system blends real-time action with strategic elements, its environments are breathtaking in scale, and its story tackles themes of war, destiny, and the bonds of friendship. While a bit rough around the edges due to the Wii's limitations and with a few pacing issues, Xenoblade Chronicles delivers an epic, satisfying journey filled with memorable characters, beautiful vistas, and a rich world to explore.

This game is a masterpiece.

Everything is amazing, the combat is very fun and developed, you unlock skills in combat as the story goes on and those abilities really reflect what the characters have learned narratively, it has really tough fights that I had to repeat many times but they are kinda tricky and doable once you understand them.
The customization is pretty nice, you have normal itemization but you also have affinitties between characters which allows you to choose between skill trees from those characters to share them with the rest, giving you the possibility to try many different viable builds.

Graphically it's outstanding, pushed the Wii to its limits and the Switch remake is truly good, the artistic design is awesome, it's kinda what I wanted for an hypothetical FF XVII haha. The game also has a nice exploration and backgrounds, and the whole idea of the world as we know it, being over massive titans was just mindblowing.

The music is a real banger and absolutely majestic and iconic, this game (and saga) has one of the best current soundtracks in gaming.

Characters are also really interesting and what they teach you is lovely, but especially, the story is absurdly good, it has an amazing pacing, incredible well thought plot, lots of foreshadowing, philosophy, sociology, science and politics, and an incredibly hooking narrative. God, what a story!

Go and play this game, guys!

Remastered is better but Wii one is still perfection in my eyes

Very Very good, endless hours of entertainment, going for the 100% run. Strong rec if you like the first one

10/10 best game on the switch no doubt

Unbelievably good movie licensed video game.
