The art direction in this is pretty awesome. I love steampunk, and Steel Empire very much delivers with that. There's kind of insane slowdown though, like Thunder Force IV levels of slowdown, which is incredibly bothersome. The final boss also takes an eternity at the best of times, and level 2 has a segment that's way too fast and will most likely cost you several lives. I hear there are GBA and PC ports made quite a bit later though, so maybe those improve on this version's flaws.
