Weak start, but holy shit that ending was as strong as Kiryu himself.

How is it possible that I, a 22 year old white dude from America, feel represented by the main character of this game, a 42 year old Japanese ex yakuza

This is one of the best Ys games I’ve ever played

Over the past couple years, I worried that I wasn’t ever gonna be able to relive the hype I had when I first played Yakuza 0 back in 2017. I thought that I could never ever feel that way again, until I played and finished this game.
This was my GOTY for 2021, truly a peak for RGG Studios. The game def has some stuff that may be iffy (some of those school mini games) but everything that works, and is good, is spectacular. The story I thought would not be as well done as it was, the gameplay is some of the best out of everything RGG has done, and the music is awesome as per the usual. Just if you can give this game a shot, you can prolly play this game without playing the first Judgment, but I recommend playing that one before going into this one, it does help.

I've been putting off playing Xenoblade for a while but I finally got around to it this year. And it was worth it. A lot of new features introduced in the Definitive Edition are welcome, but on top of that this was an overall great experience and was worth playing in preparation for Xenoblade 3. Couldn't recommend enough.

I kept hearing that this game was either the worst thing ever, or better then Xenoblade 1, and I can confidently say that it's neither. I really enjoyed this game but a couple of it's systems were a bit odd and weird but the story was pretty good so it kept me playing. I appreciate that the gacha system in the game does not require you to buy core crystals if you run out since they tend to give you a steady supply of them but it sucks that you will mostly be getting common blades rather then rare ones even with using better crystals, or at the least that was what happened in my case. Overall, I thought it was worth playing especially in preparation for Xenoblade 3. Give it a try if you want to, and while you don't have to, I'd say play Xenoblade 1 before this one.

A bit of a messy game, but I can't say I hated my time with it. Some of the action scenes can bog down some of the game but the overall themes and story are pretty solid and work well. New gameplay elements make exploring not only the investigations but the Somnium as well more dynamic and interesting. Overall, a pretty good sequel to AI 1. Also the game made me cry for the minecraft man.

The first game in the Yakuza series I ever played and finished and the start of a wild ride down this whole series. Hard to say which is a better starting point, this or Kiwami 1, but either way, give the series a try, its worth it.

A game with some flaws and what not, but it still remains to be one of my favorite games of all time.
