They nailed the Bloodborne atmosphere and Soulslike recursive level design, but oh my fucking god are the bosses in the 2nd half of the game (from the swamp onwards) just unbelievably brutal to the point where I'm not having fun with the game anymore. I genuinely do not know how you are expected to solo any of these goddamn bosses, so I tip my hat to anyone that speedruns this game.

Played this on GOG after the Fallout series on Amazon got me feeling nostalgic. Really solid CRPG with a ton of depth, insanely good voice acting (especially for 1997), and charming clay model talking heads. I know for a fact that I didn't do every little thing that there is to do in this game, so I expect to return to it again someday.

It's fun, but it hasn't quite hooked me in the way that other horde survivor games have.
