Hack & Slays Ranked

I consider only games that I have either finished (which are most of the games on this list) or played long enough to be sure about how I feel about the game. For me personally, atmosphere and setting as well as the gameplay feel are what matter the most in this genre.

Currently the best gameplay and story of the genre. The expansion is great and the atmosphere is respectable as well. This is the current peak of the genre.
Strongest atmosphere of the genre, the soundtrack is wild and insanely memorable. I liked the story even tough the pacing is a bit off. Gameplay wise this is solid but dated.
I love the atmosphere of the game, it is kinda cozy and the sounddesign as well as the narrator are really memorable. The story ends abruptly and isn't worth mentioning. The Pet is a great addition.
The setting is what draws one to this game. So unique and well made. Gameplaywise it is on the dated side but you can still have fun with the game. Very high replayability due to the many Classes you can combine. Titan Quest 2 when?
Plays just like Titan Quest with a different setting. I think this game plays better than titan quest, especially after the 1.2 patch, but I just love the Greek mythology setting too much to put this above Titan Quest.
The open world does not benefit the game at all, you can not play the game offline and if you do every side quest before finishing the main campaign, you will reach a leveling barrier at 50 that is never communicated to you.
A fine game that plays a bit better than its predecessor, but lacks the atmosphere. Story is ok, much better than in Torchlight 1 though.
I really want to love this game but I have given it several tries and I never managed to keep playing until the end. I will give it another go one day, but finding skills as loot seems to be not my thing.
Tbh I did not play this game that long, but that is because I was really disappointed in it. The Warhammer Fantasy universe is a perfect usecase for a game like this, but the execution is really lacking. The story bored me to death and the gameplay did not click for me. I hope for a sequel though with a higher budget and more attention to detail.
