Worst and Best of 2022

This year of gaming was a great one for me, even though I was mostly busy throughout it. There are a couple of duds that I wanted to highlight though along with the good.

I'm glad to have at least experienced each one of this game regardless of my feelings on them.

Games I've finished in 2022
My Favorite Characters from games I finished in 2022

WOTY
The gameplay sucks, the soundtrack sucks, the characters sucks, and the narrative doesn't building upon itself to doing anything interesting. The combat felt so restrictive and poorly executed. None of the characters to me were interesting nor cool, especially compared to the other Castlevania games I've played.
Worst Gameplay
The aiming is abysmal and moving the character feels way too clunky. The second and final boss as fun as they were showed off a lot of the problem with this type of gameplay. The stages are also not that fun, I found myself trying to speed run stages rather than enjoying them.
Worst Art Direction
The game is basically all black with minimal amount of other colors, it's so boring to look at.
Worst Soundtrack
It's not god awful fortunately but wow is it basic. It's also really small, only 13 tracks. There isn't even a theme for the final boss, it's just the meh as hell boss theme that played like several times already.
Worst Narrative
Like I said in my review, the story is really lame and generic. And the bad guy is just bad because the script says so. I liked the Rozia's part in the story. And it's kinda hard to care for the protag's story when he basically has no unique personalities. The lore is really meh too, I really wasn't feeling this game at all.
Worst Multiplayer
There were some connection problems during the middle of playing. Luckily my friend and I were able to fix it. Plus hard mode balancing kinda sucks here and there as well. Especially when it was two people, but we did it so wasn't all for nothing.
GOTY
So many words but no perfect one for how amazing, spectacular this game was. Bro, I did not expect paying 4 dollar for a steam key of some game I've never heard of would absolutely shatter my expectations, which I had zero of. I loved everything about this game and I cannot wait for the dlc that's coming next year.
Best Gameplay
This game was so fun, I really didn't expect it to be especially hearing all the mixed reception about it. But goddamn is it fun, it singlehandedly made me interested in the musou genre. I honestly doubt I'll ever find another musou as fun and exciting as this one.
Best Art Direction
The artist is the same as the Bravely Default series, so Bravely Second has an honorable mention for this category. I just love how comfort, soft, but mature the artstyle is. Definitely keeping an eye open whenever this artist makes art for another game.
Best Soundtrack
I know y'all will clown me but I don't care. I love the music in this game and this is coming from someone who doesn't really like this series music that much. I don't know man, it just sounds so vibrant and amazing compared to the other 3 Castlevania games I've played.
Best Narrative
The story is so cool, I was always a Batman fan but this game definitely elevated my opinion to the highest degree. The final boss might be the weakest part but all in all it was an incredible experience that I'm glad to have witness.
Best Multiplayer
Honestly, it's a fun game with friends. There's just a good sense of charm playing against all different types of people too. Plus I really like playing as Harley and WW.
