This game isn't for everyone, but it doesn't change the fact that it's amazing, in every sense of that word. I sadly can't rate it 5 stars because the level layouts get so confusing that they simply didn't age well, and as much as the level design is interesting and pretty, confusion outweighs the fun in some places. That being said, there's pretty much nothing else I can say about this game that is negative. The Humor is so clever and rare that it never gets old, and the jokes said in this game will stick with me for at least couple weeks. Guns are satisfying and pleasant to use, movement is incredibly slick and smooth, and enemies can often get challenging if you don't manage your ammo well. Play it, it's free on Steam and worth playing-through, if not for the action, then for the humor alone.

It's not bad, but incredibly short, and could've been improved very heavily. The idea itself is entertaining and interesting, but lacks any depth, and 15 minutes of gameplay show that this wasn't really worked through. I'd gladly replay it when new levels/updates with content come out.

It started off with being very interesting, but unfortunately the longer I played the worse it got. Game started lagging at incredibly weird moments, often locking my framerate to 30-40fps for no reason. Story was incredibly hard to follow not only because the time given for the windows with text was too short but also a lot the Dialogue was happening when I was shooting around with the enemies, and it was Impossible to read anything. AI is incredibly bad, can't count how many times the AI teammates that are following us start shooting random things for absolutely no reason and won't stop until they move away or get hurt by something. If you can't make something work, why even add it to the game? Only lowers the experience quality.

This is one of the best if not THE BEST Mod for GZDoom. It's not even a debate. It TOWERS over part one which already was really good. I thought that such big improvement would be impossible, I was horrendously wrong. There were locations which climate and atmosphere would cause chills to run down my spine. Bosses who made me say 'that's so fking cool' more times than I could count. Weapon upgrades, Special abilities, gameplay changing constantly from start to finish, you simply CAN NOT get bored. The Locations are beautiful, the sprites and enemies too. Even the OST is done amazingly well for a mod. It's shocking that all this is available completely for free.

If I were to talk about only one thing in this game, it's the Feeling. The Feeling is what makes it good. Without it, this would've been just another empty Doom-Based mod. The Atmosphere, and the Sounds, are done Perfectly. Most of the Locations look not only Incredible, but also Interesting. Hell, even the Chapter names are Badass for the most part. Give it a try. It's Worth it.

Short, Violent, and Absolutely Terrible. I love it.

Oh well. This might be my most negative review yet. I could write around 50 points of what's wrong with this game. But that's pointless. I rather focus on what made me actually finish the game, and the little aspects that I enjoyed, but I still somewhat have to explain my hatred for this game, don't I...

First of all, this game is heavily inspired (to not say copied) by Cry of Fear. It's visible since the very first second of the gameplay. It tries to be Cry of Fear so badly, even the story is somewhat similar, but of course much blander and... emptier. There are so many aspects that are heavily inspired by Cry of Fear that a blind person playing it would notice. I'm not joking. Just imagine CoF but everything that possibly could be done badly, actually IS done badly. That's what this game is. Now I'm not a game developer. I'm not a voice actor. I'm not a programmer. I don't even know how to code, but I fucking know when sound of ocean is louder than the character and I can't understand ANYTHING that's being said. I know when a monster looks more like if he was tap dancing or hitting the griddy in high school corridor than as if he was chasing me. Example 1 Example 2

I don't know whether it's the engine limitations or not. But I know for a fact that 99% of this could've been done better. The monsters still let out sounds after they die, for absolutely no reason. The elevator rides, that are a popular way of transport in the game, are overly long and WAY too loud, for no reason - again. There are some weapons that are useless and others that are very overpowered, weapon system isn't balanced at all. Even though enemies shoot with similar/same weapons that we use, they don't drop ammo. This game feels more like a walking simulator and/or hack'n'slash for most of the time than a damn horror. I didn't get scared ONCE during the whole playthrough. Not even the cheap sound spikes during jump-scares moved me, and that's an achievement to fuck even that up. I seriously doubt the authors were trying to create an actual serious Horror game heavily inspired by Cry of Fear, because this is a terrible disappointment if that happened to be true. There are tons of mechanics that were being added for no reason, before polishing the previous ones. There's sprinting in the game that's supposed to make you afraid that you might run out of stamina when being chased, but unless you sprint for like 10 seconds all at once you will never be out of breath. Then what the hell is that mechanic for? The game self-contradicts itself very often, too. To say when and how would be a spoiler of the story, not that it's worth knowing or anything in my opinion but I still rather avoid spoiling anything. But here's a link to my YouTube clips if someone were to be curious, keep in mind those are slight spoilers. Start of Self-Contradiction End of Self-Contradiction If that isn't bullshit, I don't know what is.

On to last of the negatives, to wrap it up. The usage of props is incredibly lazy and random. You see machines and props standing in places where they shouldn't really be, and you see this all the time. The sprites are lazy as well. I can't count how many times I walked past the same fucking shop being in different parts of the city. You can see the same car 5 times in matter of 30 seconds, and you don't even have to try. Usage of Sound is done very poorly, too. If you can even call it usage, because NOTHING IS BEING DONE WITH THE SOUND. Besides monsters screaming occasionally, and maybe some footsteps, there's nothing going on. Layout of the rooms you visit and of the city is done incredibly lazy as well. In fact, it's so lazy, that when you enter an objective area, it looks exactly the same as every previous one you entered, just with other brand on it and other 'task' that it serves, but it's all bullshit it's really just the same room.

The only positive aspects for me were that some guns really felt like if they had impact. They felt heavy. Like they should feel. It was satisfying to shoot with them. OST sometimes was decent too, but it was also heavily inspired by Cry of Fear of course. The dialogues are dull and don't really matter, you won't hear half of them anyways because the developers didn't bother turning the game sounds down during cutscenes. I think that's about it; I don't want to make this rant under the clever disguise of a 'review' any longer.
Avoid at all costs, unless you get paid to finish it, and some good money at that, too.

HUGE step-up from the previous part, Lycanthorn II basically improves upon every aspect of its predecessor, through adding new locations, new enemies, even a storyline which was very vague/non-existent before. The storyline, although not great, and very simple still remains a nice touch to fill in the void that was left after the prequel. It's clearly visible that the developer saw the mistakes he did with the previous part and improved most of them, the game has become much more fun and enjoyable, and isn't boring anymore. Definitely worth a try.

There's a lot of negatives in this game. The AI is incredibly stupid, The Boss attacks reset if you just hit them once so they can't even protect themselves, they take up 4 times more space than they actually should on the map, and everything gets very bland and repetitive really quickly. However, the art style, and satisfaction coming from jumping and moving around in this game is really great. Very creative and solid idea, but poorly executed.

Legendary title, created in such a perfect way that almost 30 years later new-gen games try to replicate the feeling this game has. It holds up amazingly after all these years and is still just as fun as the first time, being incredibly replay-able and with TONS of mods created by the modding community for this title, shall one get bored of the main campaign. Must-Play.

I'm writing this directly after I finished the game for the first time today. This game is Perfect. In my case, there's absolutely nothing I can say to put this game in negative light. I've played huge amount of horror games in my life, and this is the best one yet. Even changing the game engine to a new generation one instead of Gold Source would make it a downgrade, and not an upgrade. The Atmosphere of this game, The Story, The Looks, The Monster design, The Soundtrack, there's nothing, absolutely nothing that could've been done better. This one will stick with me for months and months to come, before I even begin to stop thinking about the great aspects of this game. It's completely free so it's definitely a must play not only for horror genre fans, but also for any genre player in general. It truly does horror genre the way it should be done and is quite the definition of it. You will not only be tormented by fear, but also by emotions and your body giving up from shaking during the gameplay, there's not many games that can replicate the feeling this game gives away completely for free. Do yourself a favor and just play it.

Basically, most of the coolest FPS mechanics combined into one game. Once you get into it, you CAN NOT turn it off.

Incredibly good for its genre. There aren't many games about hacking that are this good, and to top it all off there is Steam Workshop for this one with many great scenarios for more fun, if the game itself and DLC wasn't enough for someone. I finished it all in one go because I got so immersed, and it presents the player with constant challenges of many sorts until the end so it's unlikely to get boring.

An absolute must-play for "Competitive First-Person Shooter" Genre fans. It's a well-known classic and I'm pretty sure 99% of the people who play games or browse video game content regularly heard about CS:GO. It's a game with pretty much limitless skill potential, and even people who played it since it's released until now still can find something they can improve on. It had its ups and downs, and one of the major flaws would be community which is very toxic and also sometimes cheaters can be met. Other than that, there's not much to talk about, because everyone knows it already.
