MaiaCustom finished ObsCure: The Aftermath
I'm not quiiite sure how I feel about the more streamlined approach compared to the first game? The megadungeon structure and character permadeath are forgone in favor of a more structured narrative which kind of lessens the feeling of playing a teen B-horror movie... But I was gagged at the character deaths and stuff. Fun time nonetheless!

There's a hilarious amount of weird random shit that's super tone-breaking but I didn't really mind. Was a part of the fun

it's worth noting that tomb raider isn't really a 3d platformer in a traditional sense. it's much more in line with like, a 3d realization of the original prince of persia. so if that kind of methodical, more realism driven kind of puzzle platforming/problem solving doesn't appeal, then this likely won't ever change your mind

if you get the swing of the controls and the mindset the game's built around, i think you'll find the grid-based level design and movement to be pretty intuitive

i had one of these, might still have it, but instead of a small keychain it was a big ass blue oval-like shape with yellow buttons. it annoyed the shit out of my parents when i played it in the car

is your distaste a matter of feeling like it's too clunky/confusing or just finding it boring despite understanding the way it's meant to be played?

if the former, then you should approach it another time with a different mindset. if the latter, then it's probably just not for you

Androu1 reviewed Slay the Spire
It's been a couple years since I last played this and I still stand by my original thoughts: this game would be better if it wasn't a roguelike. Bad RNG can make it easy to never get the specific cards you want, metaprogression is basically nonexistent, and there's almost no variety between runs because the areas and enemies themselves barely change.

Fun as fuck while in the middle of a single encounter, but everything around that is just kinda peepee poopoo and makes me wish it weren't a roguelike. Like, I mean, metaprogression isn't even mandatory for a roguelike but when you combine the poor metaprogression with samey runs it just feels... pointless?

The truth is that it surprised me, it is a very good puzzle game that plays with perspective and impossible figures

Quite simple and to spend the afternoon.
It does not require you to know much about puzzles since it is very visual and with a couple of movements you can see the solution
