Steam NextFest 2024 Demos

Game Demos I played as part of Steam NextFest.

Everything from its art style to its setup feels straight out of Deadly Class by Rick Remender. I absolutely love games that take simple concepts like this and just run with it. This is a day one buy for me at release.
Heavy Hollow Knight mixed with insert rogue like. Nothing groundbreaking but has potential to be really cool if it can stick the landing at release.
Its movement feels as good as it looks. So happy to finally play this and I can't wait for the final product.
Boring, bland, filled with AI art and changed settings on my computer without my permission. Avoid this demo at all cost. Thankfully not malware but it's jank.
It already feels so polished as a demo and it's progression/difficulty feels very strong. I can see myself sinking a lot of hours into this game with friends. Especially on the SteamDeck.
While the game won't give you a second to appreciate it, the visuals are really impressive as it nails that 90s anime look. Its fast paced nature does get your adrenaline going and its sound effects are top notch. However, I will admit I am skeptical on if it has the chops to not overstay its welcome.
An incredibly impressive artstyle and interesting implementation of dice checks makes this one to look out for.
I spent most of the Demo gathering money, to pay a trucker, to find a trash can in the middle of the desert. I am 100% convinced this will be in my top 10 games of this year.
As a dog owner this setup is as top notch as a John Wick film. Save your dog by acting as a vaccine in a metroidvania setting? Hell yeah!
The shortest Demo clocking in around 3-5 minutes, but included the great soundtrack and movement that I expect from Toree. Siactro has another banger with this one.
The style and sense of humor is top notch and the amount of animations present are impressive.
I can see this not only being apart of my regular gaming rotation but apart of my daily routine. It's a showcase of being human and a great experience.
Its atmosphere is so uneasy and beautiful all at the same time. There was one specific enemy whose design and movement made my skin crawl. I can't wait to see what kind of puzzles and horrors await with this one.
I'm not sure how I feel about this one. I really like the combat but really wish stealth meant taking down enemies to avoid fights. Rather than just reducing fights to low health 1v1s. Regardless the combat is stylish and I want to play more of it. I'm just predicting I am going to be mixed on this one overall.
Feels very early 360 era in a bad way. But the trailer at the end of the demo showcased more variety than what was on offer here. I'm gonna keep an eye on it but I won't be surprised if it ends up...meh.
I don't feel qualified to say whether this is any good or not from a mechanics level. Feels like this was made for those who have full steering wheel set-ups. Overall it's not for me.
A really cool idea but I think a lot needs to be done to make this game work. Annoying voice lines, sluggish management are pace killers. I don't know why the developer thought placing troops individually with a wonky animation was a good idea but that needs to be changed ASAP.
It's style and tone are up my alley but the combat hasn't clicked with me just yet. I really hope it does as this is a highly anticipated title for me.
