Overall I did enjoy Symphonia, the early game was a bit weird and until I stocked up on 20 life bottle and other consumable healing items there was a good chance I'd have to load the save.
Combat was fluid even if I ended up using my comfortable combo set with Lloyd the whole time and swapping attacks on rare occasions.
The story was good, but coming into this after playing Vesperia Definitive Edition I was disappointed in the overall character development through the main story. Sure you get to see each characters motivations and how they've changed from when you first meet them, but by the end they're still filling the same character mold they were in at the beginning (I.E The playboy character is still the same playboy he was when you first met him, just on the team for the long haul now). While I'm sure there are side quests that help flesh things out (such as Genus and Raine's Mom side quest) they should have tied those into the main story to give each character the spotlight
