Figured I'd give this a try. maybe due to also having a fallout ttw playthrough going but everything about this game dragged. Even on "Story" difficulty the games throws ungodly amounts of enemies at you, which fine wouldn't be an issue if they all died in 1 or 2 shots, which they don't.

Most of the bosses are fine? I guess all of them are fairly simple until the final two bosses the second of last containing three seconds of just floating around waiting to find the "Real" boss and shooting him until it finally continues, certainly didn't help that they forced in a completely boring side story involving the weapons near the very end.

Speaking of the guns, aside from the auto gun unless it was necessary I very rarely switched weapons, maybe it was due to the difficulty setting but the others, until the final weapon, seemed extremely pointless to use.

Then you have the characters, even absolutely mediocre games can be saved if the characters are interesting. Besides the MC, there's the sister and Gene, both of which were just real drags to even sit through the cutscenes let alone talking to them for anything else. The few times I did start to enjoy the sister she'd start back over with the attitude she's introduced to us with and became repetitive. Though I suppose she's not nearly as bad as Gene who completely fucks off with your sister at the end of the game with the house. Knifey was enjoyable for the first ten or so minutes.

The one thing this game did do right with though is ending the game after killing the final boss made it a lot quicker on closing and uninstalling the game. Didn't even bother playing the DLC so maybe that would have completely changed my mind. Though unlikely do to just how BAD the gunplay is in the game.

The game was extremely pretty and the animations with the guns, enemies being visibly weaker the more you hurt them, etc were all great. Was honestly the saving grace because everything else about this game was just a complete slog to get through.

The majority of the game is great, a bit to many treasure quests with no markers for my liking but that's personal preference. Ending of the game felt extremely rushed though it still follows along with the story.
