I'm 80 hours in at level 46 all of the stratagems unlocked and most ship upgrades at level 3 and on the last page of all but one warbond, so I think I can call this "completed," even though I'm still regularly playing with my friends.

One of the greatest co-op games ever conceived I think, just a magnificent execution of a simple concept backed by an evolving narrative driven by the playerbase's victories and defeats. I look forward to decimating the enemies of Super Earth for years to come.

I love rallying its so fun and relaxing I would totally do this in real life but I would probably crash multiple times and break all the bones in my body when i crash into a mountain at 200kph

good autistic game to reset your sleep schedule
paradox interactive multiplayer is unimaginably bad, as always
paradox interactive DLCs are plentiful and pricey, as always

Yeah I remember this game, I remember the dialogue never stopping between my failed attempts to accomplish any of my goals too. Why do racing games always have to have people talking in them?

A lot of people shit on this game but this was the second coming of Christ for me. I built like thirty thousand cars and helicopters in every conceivable shape and size, this was Garry's Mod to me before I knew it existed. That skeleton guy talks your ear off too, I played it so much he was basically my dad for a while

My body is a machine that turns very promising jokers into lost runs

Intentional comedy in games seems to be incredibly difficult to get right but Helldivers did it by creating the perfect Starship Troopers game. The visual tone of everything is so serious that all the shouting about exploding insect monsters for "democracy" hits just that little bit harder.

The gameplay is very tight, with most of the silliness coming from how easy it is to shoot/launch an airstrike on your friends. It's been a while since I've enjoyed a co-op game this much (that wasn't Monster Hunter). Missions can be as long or as short as you want them to be, making it perfect for just jumping on for a bit.

There's also been the added benefit of people with no media literacy outing themselves as idiots when they go online to babble about not understanding the fascism satire in this and Starship Troopers.

it is sad to see politics (overloaded servers) hold us back from our destiny
for real though, its such a good fucking game, the servers suck right now, but im sure it will get fixed.

Fully rewriting my review at this point now that I've sunk a lot more time into it and the devs have ironed out all the server limit issues.
This game is genuinely awesome. 40 dollars for a PVE experience that can be filled with absolute laughs amongst friends or incredible moments that make you feel like Super Earth's strongest soldier.
The multiple difficulty tiers feel reasonably balanced as a whole, the multiple tiers might seem initially off-putting but it allows for players to fine-tune the level of difficulty they want from the game without having it feel too hard or too easy.
Progression is formatted like a battle pass system which might seem initially off-putting but the devs have stated that all passes are permanent, and the free pass has 3 times the content of the first premium pass and a majority of it is really good for late-game content. Not only that, the pass gives you plenty of premium currency to buy armor from the shop or save up and buy the premium pass, so the game doesn't feel pay to win.
The only major complaint I'd have with this game is it's weapon balancing. A few weapons in the game will be used exclusively into the endgame, but the disparity between the good and bad weapons is so huge its not even funny. If a weapon its bad, its unusable even on lower-difficulties with how unsatisfying they feel. The game needs a balance wave to boost other weapons to the same level as the weapons that are good, hopefully without nerfing any of the good weapons. Armor also needs to be properly fixed and working, but the developers are aware of that as of this review's writing.
