A great plot, great art direction, hindered only by its annoying disney channel kid’s show dialogues. The convo route mechanism is a great idea, but fails to offer IMPORTANT or competent conversations. With cliche phrases such as “this is a thing that’s happening”, “ok, I’ll shut up now…”, “are you doing that?! Keep doing it it’s awesome!” Or the protagonist’s lukewarm reactions to her friends and step brother being possessed or dying followed by a “wow, that just happened”.

Another bad, bad thing about this game is its long ass loading screens, which I don’t quite get because this game is literally 4 hours long and it’s 2D soo…..

Altogether it’s a fun game, if anything I finished it for the awesome plot and intriguing endings.

It’s a short and interesting game that keeps you very engaged (at times) on what’s going on at a park you enlisted for to be a firewatcher after your wife goes away because she has dementia. It tries to give you insight about two people and their circumstances, making a parallel with another story that you try to uncover, but to me it doesn’t really connect all the wires and falls and crashes miserably at the end. The game gives you choices that don’t affect the outcome of the story, there are exploration elements that become over used after a while, items that you don’t use or that you use a couple times, etc. this game lacks a complete sense of what it wants you to do. It gives you stuff to do, that doesn’t accomplish anything. Instead of feeling like you’re uncovering a mystery, it feels as if you just run around in circles while bickering with your lover and it gets exhausting. It still is a nice and atmospheric game, with a super clever new way to play and interact with stuff, but it just has too many elements that do not co exist well.

Played the demo, and although this game looks nice it’s clear I’m not the target audience. It reminded me immediately of Kirby’s Epic Yarn in terms of playability, in the sense that it’s too easy and simple. Levels are short, no real challenges. Also the music is kinda bad. OH and it has A LOT of frame drops. Real bad ones.
