Xbox fans love to defend Microsoft buying out studios because Sony does it too, but at least when Sony does it, they don't IMMEDIATELY shut down an entire 14 year old studio a year after they put out their first exclusive for the company, which also happens to be the best game on their platform in DECADES just to line the pockets of their executives.

Japan Studio's closure was the worst thing Sony ever did. But in the bleakest of perspectives, it makes sense as their games were never financially profitable, and were bleeding money for over a decade, especially after the development hell The Last Guardian went through, only to sell a little over a million copies.

Hi-Fi Rush was a much smaller game that reached universal acclaim with 3.5 million sold copies in just a little over a year. That is insanely good for a mid-budget game. Microsoft had zero reason to shut down the studio to prop up Bethesda with their most mediocre game yet that even IGN gave a 7/10, along with an extraordinarily generic Indiana Jones game and a generic Marvel tie-in game.

Not even to mention that Microsoft is a TRILLION($3,000,000,000,000+) dollar company that has zero reason to purge studios that make successful games.

Hi-Fi Rush was one of the most unique games we've gotten in years and now it will never receive a follow-up thanks to corporate greed and incompetency from the worst company in the entire gaming industry. Far worse than EA or Ubisoft.

Pretty damn solid, but once you get up to a certain level there's just too much clutter on the screen to really be able to dodge anything. Pretty forward-thinking for the time but it is a tad easy in early levels and gets a little frustrating in later levels with the ridiculous speed of some of the objects.

This is the Sixth version of Breakout I have played in this collection. There's still no ball ricochet.

What if Centipede but it constantly sounded like you were trying to plug a guitar into a way-too-loud amp but you never actually fully push the instrument cable in

Fixes most of my problems with the original Asteroids on a surface level but still isn't really better by much, definitely less interesting overall since it's not even remotely as canonical as the original. The homing enemies do give you a real reason to move, but they come in 6 at a time and don't follow you past the borders of the screen which is really annoying to fight against. The shield is a lot more useful than the hyperspeed but it's less interesting and most times you'd want to use it you can also just move out of the way. Overall, it's fine, same as the original Asteroids.

"why didn't anyone tell me this is one of the best indie games ever made?" i say after ignoring everyone who told me to play crosscode for the past five years

I played Pikmin 3 and could not resonate with me but playing Pikmin 4 was a different story. Pikmin 4 was simultaneously a relaxing and intense time.
I welcome the changes to the franchise including the perspective, adding a helpful dog and challenge arenas. The gameplay loop was addictive with their amazing level designs along with the game mechanics to make it all come together perfectly. It does so well, that I 100%'ed the game. Which is a rare for me.
The traditions of a day cycle, collecting Pikmin and collecting items is all there. They also reintroduced caves from Pikmin 2 which was great to see.
They added customising your character and time management puzzles which was satisfying.
As much as I loved the charm and presentation, the game has some very minor issues of:
- Load times being quite lengthy (this could be a hardware issue)
- I don't normally care, but I really want a New Game Plus option.
- The final (about 5%) was very tedious and/or challenging having the last cave being a chore to do. Just note the final cave is optional to get the good ending the game.
Pikmin 4 is good for the soul and with 6 worlds to cover, it stayed it's welcome perfectly. Took me around 50 hours to 100% (with the secret ending) of the game and may come back to it again.

this game is a bunch of poopy ass drippings covered in chocolate Feces - Egoraptor, 2013
