Bio
I'm a 26-year-old woman named Jessica who loves cozy games! I also love animals, music, reading, writing, art, science, geography, and more. Playing games is one of my favorite hobbies. Although I'm more of a fan of calmer games, I've played a lot of different types of games, and I'm hoping to play more as time goes on ^^

Song of the Deep is a charming adventure/action/Metroidvania game for all ages. It features an oceanic and mythological theme, with sea creatures of Celtic folklore, and some sci-fi ones. You play as a young girl named Merryn, who is on a quest to search for her missing father, although I will not spoil anything about the story here.

Song of the Deep, in my opinion, is a beautiful game. Its soundtrack and beautiful environments were breathtaking, for me, and I feel that this game was a labor of love for the makers. It captures the unknown of the ocean very well; capturing its beauty and its fearsomeness. The gameplay is fun, and the game's map is huge and expansive, with so much variation in its environments. Although certain puzzles can be tricky, in my experience, this game was an absolute pleasure to play, The game also has so many treasures and items that you can collect, which I enjoyed

Song of the Deep is truly a very lovely game, and it's a game that I would recommend to those who love a wholesome story and those who love oceanic themes. The artistry of this game and the gameplay alike are both quite a pleasure. If you enjoy the game's story, Brian Hastings published a book about Song of the Deep as well, and I would highly recommend reading it too. It's really sweet, and I think people of all ages can enjoy it. It's made for kids, but that doesn't bother me at all since I prefer light-hearted stories. ^^

Ori and the Blind Forest is an absolutely beautiful game, filled with a roller coaster of emotions, so many beautiful environments. I have never found any other game that has left me in tears after its first 10 minutes, and the game remains one of the most beautiful that I have ever played. The colors, lighting, and atmosphere are incredibly immersive and stunning, and the story is one of great emotion.

You play as Ori, a small and young orphan who has been adopted by a loving character named Naru, who becomes his caretaker, friend, and mother. They spend time relaxing together in the forest and eating its delicious fruits together, playing games, and enjoying their life, until, a catastrophic event begins to occur - one which caused the loss of many lives. Ori must help heal the forest and bring back its power and life.

This sequence is one of the most emotional moments I've seen in a game, and quite honestly, I can't watch it without crying. The beauty of Naru and Ori playing together and being so happy was something that brought me numerous smiles, seeing them with such joy. Playing as Ori, the desire to save the forest is overwhelmingly strong.

Throughout the game, you encounter and traverse through numerous areas of the forest, many covered in thorns and decay, but some life remains, from its forests, rivers, large hills, and areas both dark and light. You must defend yourself from creatures that attempt to attack you, and you must find a way to restore the forest and its life.

The game is absolutely incredible, as are the visuals, environments, the emotion, the details, and everything about it. My only complaint is that the game can become difficult... VERY difficult, at times.

Gareth Coker's soundtrack for Ori and the Blind Forest is also such an absolutely beautiful addition to the game. The collection of soundtrack still remains to be the most powerful and emotional soundtrack of any game that I've ever heard in my life. Each song is a beautiful mixture of incredible, touching, emotional, inspiring, and wondrous sounds, vocals, and instruments. The environments of the soundtrack fit the game perfectly, to a T, and further strengthen the immense beauty of this game.

Never has any game soundtrack had my tears flow, my heart race, and ears in awe, and my mind in ecstasy. I listen to it regularly, and still, it brings me so much emotion no matter how many times I listen to it.

The gameplay is really difficult, and I had kind of a hard time with it sometimes, but I still absolutely love it!

I couldn't recommend this game or its art or soundtrack enough. <3

Stardew Valley is an enjoyable and lovely RPG game that I have enjoyed very much for many, many years now; ever since 2016. Although there are many farming games on Steam, I have never found a farming/agricultural game that has had nearly as much diversity as Stardew Valley, and Stardew Valley is definitely the most fun one, in my opinion!

Stardew Valley's farming is peaceful and enjoyable, and I love it, but I also love that there's so much more that you can do besides farming! The game is chock-full of content and options, and lots of different activities to explore, as well as a lovely game world to explore, filled with charm, color, and personality. In the game, you can raise animals, build collections, build buildings on your farm, craft items, decorate your home, catch fish, mine minerals, fight creatures in the mines, build friendships with villagers, enjoy town festivals, get married, have children/adopt, cook, learn recipes, upgrade your tools, and find artifacts! I love every single aspect of these; the game is so much fun :D

The game has quite a few villagers and buildings, and the town is fun to explore, in my opinion. Pelican Town has a lot of personality, but you can tell that the town needs some TLC, and you can chime in and help!

The gameworld is lovely, and the town's events/festivals are quite charming, especially experiencing them for the first time. There is an in-game calendar that shows the villagers' birthdays, special events, and festivals. There are festivals for each season and crops and fish for each season, so each season brings fresh content to enjoy for a new player.

I also like the quality system the game has for its items. As you progress in the game, your produce increases in quality, allowing you to sell it for more money, or build your relationship with villagers more than a normal quality gift. I enjoy the satisfaction of helping my characters master their skills ^^

I also really enjoy building relationships with the villagers. You can progress in building their friendship, and eventually date any villager or marry any villager. Throughout the development of the relationship with them, you learn more about their personality. Each villager has a different personality and different hobbies, as well as different gifts that they like or dislike. It's fun learning more about what they like and seeing their personality shine when your characters know them better. I also like that the characters' personalities are realistic; each character has both positive and negative traits. A lot of the characters are quite relatable in this way.

Stardew Valley also has a delightfully charming and relaxing soundtrack that is very appropriate for the game, and very pleasant to listen to, as well as unique songs for each season and different songs for different locations in the game, and its visuals are also pleasing and saturated.

Overall, Stardew Valley is a really great game, and it's been a pleasure to play. It's a very good thing to play to relax and to enjoy, and progressing in the game is satisfying. The only complaint that I have is that, early on in the game, fishing can be quite difficult and it can be difficult to initially make money to afford new seeds, etc.

Also, the game has modding support, which is awesome! From things like QoL improvements to graphical overhauls that change the color palette of the game, the sprites, the avatars, etc., there's so much potential for customizing the game and enjoying it even more! ^^

Plus, it is still being updated, despite being almost a decade old! But the game doesn't feel dated at all. This game has always held a special place in my heart, and I would recommend Stardew Valley in a heartbeat to anyone who likes chill, calming, comforting, fun, and immersive games. ^^
