Some topics and happenings are a bit dated, but they don't stop it from being a masterpiece

All I have ever read about this game is that it's either the most boring game ever or the most captivating. I find it captivating

I only wanted to break my controller 20 times. Music and charadesign are really cool, the levels can suck my ass

The best succession of games ever made. Coherent world building, amazingly written characters across the 3 games, simple but incredibly fun gameplay, many emotions and atmospheres throughout the levels which are masterfully designed. Art.

Outer Worlds is a truly refreshing adventure FPS. Vibrant cartoon-ish graphics and a very unique art style that can be seen everywhere from your own stellar map to the city streets and even loading screens. While clearly inspired from the Fallout series (no big surprise, a lot of these devs worked for Bethesda), the gameplay and mechanics hold the road. The shooting is fluid, and the ability to slow down time for a short period helps the players who may not be that good at aiming (that's me). This is a big step up from the Fallout V.A.T.S system, which often made me feel like I wasn't really playing. Though there aren't that many weapons to use, each is customizable through mods and feels different to use. Having the ability to always bring two companions with you makes the party pretty lively as they often have conversations with each other, although it also makes the game much easier thanks to their personal "showdown" abilities, which are often very strong. Speaking of companions, I found nearly every one of them to be really interesting as people. Sam's conflicting faith, Parvati's romantic feelings, Nyoka's past, they all brought a different and personal piece to the crew. The main themes of the game revolve around corporate ideology and one's place in society. These are taken to such absurdly high levels that the game felt like this cynically funny interpretation of what human space conquest would look like. In a way, Outer Worlds reads like a futuristic Dilbert comic, with a bit more violence to it.

I liked the game

I really loved just swinging around
