I'm sorry but i did not like this one, i much prefer the first two games.

The game has way too little connection to the first two games, taking away the modern day setting and acid trip like atmosphere for a more generic JRPG setting with none of the charm of the first two.

The game has very little development and backstory for a character focused game, especially Hinawa who is overshadowed by George an unseen character in terms of backstory. Claus and Hinawa are only given five lines of dialogue to get us invested.
The main character's mom only minutes after she's introduced, and we barely get to know her at all.
The weird tonal dissonance with the cutesy whacky happy designs and child death, murder and suicide.
The game has an extremely rushed and hamfisted plot with the themes being shoved into your face constantly, the three year timeskip ending a lot of plot threads and starting a bunch of new ones. The entire town goes from loving Lucas to being scornful and resentful of him in a matter of a few minutes thanks to this. Leder being the most pointless exposition dump with his gravity coming across as completely weightless.
The massive tonal departure from the first two games. The first two games embracing capitalism and modernization while making much less hammy and subtle critiques of it, compared to Mother 3 where there's no nuance or subtlety at all to the themes. The game has you reset the entire world to go back to a communal lifestyle which the game never once criticizes.

As for Gameplay, the game has very poor balancing, everyone being able to use bottle rockets, Mother 3 everyone can throw bottle rockets and bombs it's so stupid. Kumatora is also too tanky though Paula herself also needed to be less tanky. There is a bigger overlap or skills as everyone has some form of buffs. Ana was the right balance for a glass cannon PSI user, and the cast of Mother 1 in general was the best in terms of differentiating each party member clearly.
Can't take Salsa to endgame
Can't force Kumatora to do funky monkey dance
Porky is too Freaking easy.

There is just so much gripes i have with it which is very disappointing as i expected this to be much better based on its reputation :(

This is an incredible RPG, the more i play it the more i enjoy it, at first i was overwhelmed with it, a lot of things to read, a lot of abilities a lot of status, effect, characters, choices, it is overwhelming but once i started to get experienced with it, i started to enjoy it immensely, now im at the end of Act 2 and i dont want it to be over, the combat is so much more fun now that i unlocked more abilities and understanding of the mechanics, the story is now more interesting that i grew to connect and relate with my companions.

Divinity Original Sin 2 is one of my favorite games of all time, but this one takes everything about the Divinity games and improves upon them in every way, from better story & cinematics to better companions, better enemy variety, better level design, better gameplay, this is shaping up to be one of my favorite games of all time.
So far zero bugs, zero crashes, game runs fantastic, i dont get the complaints around it, i updated my graphics drivers, my PC is in great condition, and everything is fine, at this age of shitty ports and half assed game launches this game is a breath of fresh air.

2017

Peak of modern immersive sim, solid atmosphere, fun and deep emergent gameplay, excellent leveldesign and interesting story.
A game for people with good taste™.

Very good isometric rpg that improves on nearly everything from the first game, combat is more polish and feels more satisfying, the side quests are more involved, the rpg mechanics are deeper and exploring is enjoyable.
The writing is still meh but overall its worth to check out if you enjoy the genre.

Hearts of Stone presents a very engaging tale with tightly paced story and very memorable characters, it may live in Blood and Wine's shadow but this is without a doubt a fantastic expansion through and through with what is probably the peak of the Witcher saga storytelling in both writing and cinematics.

It's crazy to me how the best narrative of 2022 was ignored like that by award ceremonies.

Made me fall in love with isometric rpgs again, very satisfying combat and rpg mechanics and the writing is hilarious.
