Things I Like About Games I Hate

Nothing here!

The body swap mechanic is so cool, I just wish this wasn't a Parasite Eve game.
Props for kinda sorta being an early Master System percursor to Shenmue?
Desert Island Escape is a genuinely awesome mode and I'm glad they ported it to New Leaf.
Oh god, this is hard already. Ummm... The opening cutscene has some high production values? I guess?
While not good by any objective measures, I kinda like the flat low-poly look of the environments. The camera shifting down as you jump is also a rare good design choice in an otherwise inept game.
The low poly sprites look very goofy, in a good way. The "boom bang" mechanic is executed pretty poorly here, but it's not an awful concept and has worked in other party games like Rabbids TV Party.
It may have been the final straw that caused the Video Game Crash, but you can also argue that means it caused the rise of video games with the NES as well.
The fact that this game even exists is hilarious. Though, to give it credit, it does also have a bit more content than the original.
I love the way this game looks. I'd definitely want a Frogger game with this kind of arcade-y low-poly look to it.
"I wish I may, I wish I must-" You know the rest.
LEGO Worlds does admittedly give you a lot of freedom to build whatever you want, at least if you can get a handle on the controls and deal with the frequent bugs.
Some of the tracks in Tour are pretty awesome (Vancouver Velocity, Singapore Speedway, Ninja Hideaway, Merry Mountain, Piranha Plant Cove) and I'm glad the Booster Pass let me experience them in an actually good game.
It brought back Mini Game Island, which was one of my favorite 1P modes in a Mario Party game.
This is a genuinely impressive tech showcase from Fuse Games that looks great and handles not too badly. Glad they got to redeem themselves with Metroid Prime Pinball.

And yes, the music is very dinky.
This is one of the best-looking games on the Wii U, the character models look stunning and have some very charming animations.
As per the usual for a Mega Man game, the soundtrack is very good, with Code Crush in particular going very hard.
The live-action cutscenes are hysterical.
I admire the ambition and constant genre swapping on display, at the very least.
Being able to dual-wield in Chambara is genuinely really cool, would've killed for something like that in Wii Sports Resort
I really like some of the new plant designs. Bonk Choy in particular is a personal favorite.
Secret Rings includes an entire Mario Party mode and it's actually not that bad. The art direction is also stellar, and some of the songs go pretty hard.
The character animation is actually really good, maybe even some of the best in any Sonic game.
The Spongebob/Patrick maze levels are far and away the best of the minigame types, even if they still drag on. Also the unlockable "director's commentary" is a legitimately neat bonus feature.
Stewart Copeland came back for the soundtrack and it's still very good, maybe even on par with the OG trilogy. I'm also glad they stuck with the elemental breath mechanic in later games because it does have a lot of potential.
Uhhhhhh... The soundtrack's alright, I guess?
I mean, it's a Kirby game, so naturally it's super polished and plays great. With how good Kirby bosses are, a boss rush spinoff could've been a homerun if it wasn't F2P.
It's a Falcom game, so the soundtrack goes hard, and it paved the way for the far better Oath In Felghana.
