Just wrapped up my final match on Splatoon 1, This was one of my personal favorites from the Wii U era and I have a lot of memories attached to it. I love the game’s energy and vibes and it’s depressing that most of that will now be gone after the server shutdown (Although Pretendo will come in clutch). I never really got into the sequels but the original Splatoon will always have a special place in my heart.

Yuffie is like the greatest character in all of fiction and that’s a fact.

I decided to playthrough this game recently as I wanted it fresh in my mind before Rebirth's release, and while it does have flaws, Final Fantasy VII Remake is still a fantastic game and one I highly recommend if you haven't played it already. Since this is taking a section of the original title that was only around 5-6 hours long and expanding it to be the length of a full game, It was inevitably going to have some filler content. Even if some of these parts are fun from a gameplay perspective, they serve little to no purpose in the actual story. But that's really the only complaint I have with FF7 Remake, Basically everything else about this game is top tier! The new combat system is very well designed and I feel it should be the main one used for the series going forward, Even though I love the gameplay of FF16 I definitely feel the combat in 7 Remake fits the series a lot better than Devil May Clive. The characters were handled very well in Remake and they feel a lot more like their counterparts from the original game as opposed to how they were in the Compilation. The ending of the game is peak as well (along with an absolute banger of a credits song) and I can't wait to see how Rebirth will expand on it, Overall Final Fantasy VII Remake is a phenomenal Action RPG and one of the best from the 8th Generation.

One of my favorite shooters of all time, Can’t believe it’s been 10 years. I have countless memories of playing this game together with friends trying to do Garden Ops on harder difficulties, grinding Team Vanquish lobbies, and a lot more. This and GW2 are peak fiction and I’d love to see a real third entry someday. (Battle for Neighborville doesn’t count)

Absolute perfection. Uncharted 4 takes the alright gameplay from the first three entries and expands upon it with some great new mechanics like using a rope to get to out of reach areas or to get in advantage in combat, The semi-open world vehicle exploration segments were also a nice change of pace and did add some more variety to the gameplay. The story was a definite highlight of the game with it being a lot more fleshed out compared to how they were in the prior games, Which makes sense as this game was directed by Neil Druckmann rather than Amy Hennig who did Uncharted 1-3. Sam was an interesting addition to the plot and all of the returning cast were great too. Overall I think this is an excellent conclusion to Nathan Drake's story (Please let this actually be the end Naughty Dog there’s no need to milk this dry like TLOU) and in my opinion is the best game in the franchise.

One of the best DLCs I've ever played, It ties up the cliff hanger ending from the base game and leaves the story off with a satisfying conclusion. The game's true final boss had some great set pieces and is probably one of my personal favorite fights from the game, Overall I highly recommend Part IV if you have played the base game and want to see how everything really ends. (Also fist bumping Yasha is the best QTE in the entire game)

Only 3 hours in and I can already tell this is going to be my GOTY.

This was certainly something, the dialogue was kinda ass and some scenes in the game were laughably bad, But it still has some positives. Masahiro Ito did cook with the main monster design and Akira Yamaoka went hard with the OST, The game visually looks pretty nice as well. Overall it isn’t complete garbage for a free game but it’s not exactly giving great first impressions of the first new Silent Hill game in a decade, Here’s hoping SH2 Remake delivers.

Despite it’s flaws (such as the gameplay getting a little stale after awhile and the game’s actual ending being locked behind DLC) I had a great time with Asura’s Wrath, I enjoyed the story and it’s pretty unique compared to other action games I’ve played. If you’re itching for some batshit insane action then this is definitely the game for you.

Kazunori Yamauchi woke up one day and went “FUCK, Bikes are cool.”

Tanks is definitely the standout mini game out of the ones here, But I thought Pool and Fishing were pretty neat too, While the other mini games are just sorta there. You can definitely tell that this is just a tech demo to show off the Wiimote’s pointer controls as well to sell more Wiimotes. But it does have a nice soundtrack and is still an iconic title for the system.

There was a lot of sexual tension between Clutch and Shadow Z.

Gameplay-wise this is pretty ass but it's neat to see the attempts to recreate scenes with the N64's limited hardware, I'd probably go as far as saying this is one of the best-looking N64 games I've seen. Also the music using the Mario 64 soundfont definitely gives this an extra star.

Calm down Ahab, We’re your friends!
