2h 32m

Before I stepped into Primm, I took one last look around the outskirts. I stumbled upon the California Sunset Drive-In, a few Star Bottle Caps were around but nothing really of note besides those trinkets. Had my first encounter with a couple of Feral Ghouls, who came running at me while I was exploring the Drive-In. Had to blast them with my Sturdy Caravan Shotgun. Sad thing turning into a zombie.

After searching an old playground and a few empty buildings, I made my way into the NCR camp. Spoke with Sergeant McGee and Leutinet Hayes. Hayes was the only one worth speaking to - he had some key intel on whether or not the NCR was going to make a run on the prison. He would not let me in on his secrets, so I managed to snag some mission orders he had sticking out of his pocket. It was as I thought, they were going to attack the prison. It was destined to be a bloody battle - do I tell Eddie, or do I help the NCR? Considering the soldier did not try to blow up the town that saved my life, I am inclined to betray those psychos.

Now, on to Primm. The first thing I noticed was the neon glow of a Mojave Express sign, maybe there was something there that would lead me to the ones that blasted an extra hole in my skull. No luck inside - only a slightly busted weird robot and some oddly poignant casseroles. As I exited the building, I noticed a body on the ground. It was covered in blood. His ID said his name was Daniel Wyand - he was a courier just like me. He had been assigned the same delivery job, one of 6 of us. His package was apparently a pair of fuzzy dice. I nabbed the note on his body, hoping someone would have answers for me.

A couple of Escaped Convicts tried to get the jump on me, but I blew them away easily. I went south and explored some houses but did not find anything of note.

A few more convicts tried taking shots at me from atop an old rollercoaster coming out of a place called the Bison Steve Hotel. I made my way up the rickety, dilapidated tracks and sneakily dispatched those bothersome convicts. It was time to head into the Vikki and Vance Casino (whoever that is, I have no idea).

Inside were the remaining residents of Primm - armed to the teeth and shaking in their boots. Johnson Nash, a local trader and proprietor of the local Mojave Express office, filled me in on the situation. Convicts from the prison had taken over the town and killed the sheriff, his wife, and kidnapped a Deputy Beagle, some coward from what I was led to believe. However, he is the only one in the whole town who has information on the people who shot me, so looks like I will be putting an end to these convicts once and for all - this gang just sealed their fate for all their buddies holed up in the prison. Beagle was being held in the Bison Steve, it was up to me to go save his sorry behind.

Before I left, another strange cowboy robot named Primm Slimm tried telling me about the criminals who were apparently the namesakes of the casino. Truthfully, they sounded like idiots but I could tell that gun of Vance's might be worth something. But seems like someone else thought the same thing. Not only did they beat me to it, they hacked the robot to hide the evidence. Thankfully, I had a magazine I was able to flip through and fix him to figure out where the thieves had gone. Apparently, they went to some place called the Westside - I will deal with them later. Afterward, Johnson's wife, Ruby, tried to give me some of her radscorpion casseroles, but I lacked the poison glands needed for the recipe. I plan to bring some back since it does sound tantalizing.

I marched across the street and proceeded to mow down every convict inside the Bison Steve Motel, I even made off with a fair bit of loot when it was all said and done. Armor, weapons, supplies, a strange ransom note, a whole slew of caps and ammo, even found another Star Bottle Cap. But a unique .357 pistol named Lucky was the main prize. I suppose the information regarding the men that attacked me was pretty valuable as well. Such a shame it came from the sorriest excuse for a deputy I had ever laid my eyes on. Beagle was a coward through and through. Thankfully, he had enough insight (likely fear) to realize he was not fit to be the next sheriff for Primm. This town had helped me out and it bothers me that I had been helping these devilish convicts that terrorized these innocent people. I promised I would help them pick a new sheriff - it just was not going to be easy.

Do I choose that Meyers guy who is doing time in the NCRCF? He seems like a good fit - previous experience as a sheriff, but he takes the law into his own hands, relying on emotions instead of evidence occasionally. Or do I pick the NCR? I do not know much about them other than what I have been told and my brief interactions. I have not been impressed so far... Or do I do something outrageous, like hack Primm Slimm and reprogram him to be the sheriff? To tell you the truth, it would be pretty hilarious to see him as the source of law and order. He just would not be very effective. Ugh, I will have to sleep on this one.

Continued the trek to Primm down the I15, killing geckos and picking wild crops off the side of the road. Along the way I stumbled upon Lone Wolf Radio. Looked like this was a pirate radio station from some crazy person used before the war. Found a Star Bottle Cap, but that was about it.

After a good night's sleep, I pulled up to Primm and, what I assume was an NCR soldier, told me it was too dangerous to approach the town. I can handle myself and I have some loose connections with the Powder Gangers - there shouldn't be any issues. But I needed to unload some junk, so back to Chet!

Made some caps and put away some goodies - no time to explore Primm!

Had a blast playing Fortnite at the Vault with Kane, Davey, and their other cousin Michael! Well, that was until Davey was a jerk... I will have to talk with him about how he treated me.

After we left the Vault, I went home and knocked out the rest of the Avatar: The Last Airbender pass. Sokka's meteor sword looked too awesome to pass up! Not sure if I am going to hop back in for awhile - got my fill for a minute, haha!

Started this session by doing something I have never done before - doing quests for Eddie and the Powder Gangers! Honestly, I did not even know they had quests - I am normally vilified by the time I make it to the correctional facility.

So this first part of I Fought the Law had me going and "taking care of" Chavez and his rouge group of Powder Gangers. I used my Speech to convince them to leave the territory; however, my conscience could not let them get away... Sneak Critical Attacks do wonders in this game!

After that, I had to deal with a suspicious merchant hanging outside of Jean's Sky Diving. Turns out, the guy was not a merchant at all but a poorly disguised bounty hunter! I convinced him not to throw his life away recklessly - he agreed and went. The next task involved finding out what the NCR was planning to do with the prison, which meant I needed to head to Primm. I did not want to go there without having taken care of things in Goodsprings, so I made my way back into town...

When I entered the gas station, I was greeted with the sight of Ringo and the barrel of a 9mm pistol. He was shaken up but I calmed him down - even had the chance to kick his butt in my first game of Caravan (beginner's luck?)! After easing tensions, we hatched a plan to take down Joe Cobb and his gang that were threatening to overtake the town. We knew we would get slaughtered on our own, so we started recruiting.

First, we got Sunny Smiles, after that it was a silver tongue that convinced Trudy to rally a local militia out of the other citizens. Easy Pete agreed to offer up his dynamite stores after I flipped through a magazine to reassure him I would not blow myself up. Next was Doc Mitchell, he was kind enough to offer up extra medical supplies, but he could not spare much. Finally, there was Chet, the owner of the General Store. He ended up being a tough nut to crack...

My Bartering power was just too low, so I needed to gain some experience. So I turned to what I do best - exploring! I discovered the Goodsprings Cave filled with coyotes and the remains of their hapless victims. Walked away with a fair bit of loot though. Nearby was the Devil's Gullet - a steep pit filled mainly with trash and a couple of items worth nabbing to hock for caps. But what happened next was my closest brush with death since getting shot in the head.

On the horizon was the Yangtze Memorial, a white, decaying metal cross erupting out from the endless sea of brown. A distinctly noticeable landmark in the Mojave Wasteland. What was not distinctly noticeable were the 4 Giant Radscoprions that had decided I was their next meal!

After a long-fought battle and more stimpacks than I care to admit, the bugs were no more. I had earned enough experience to up my Barter and I also took the Educated Perk (helps with magazines and skill books). I was about to make a beeline back to the General Store when I happened upon an Abandoned Shack right next to the memorial. Inside, there was a little loot and a weird item called a "Doggie Treat." After cleaning up I bit, I decided it was time to move on out of Goodsprings and use the shack as my main base of operations for now.

The move took a little while, afterwards it was time to barter with Chet. He went down easy and promised to supply everyone with leather armor! Speaking of armor, I remembered at the last second to try and recruit Victor. He said he would help, but I had my doubts.

Making my way back to Ringo, I let him know the town was ready and we had all the supplies we would, hopefully, need. Thank goodness too - Sunny Smiles burst in and said Cobb was making his way into town with 5 of his cronies.

I made sure not to fire a single shot at the Powder Gangers to not be VIlified once the dust settled. And settle it did! Goodsprings had won the day with no casualties! Mr. Cobb was not so lucky... But they all had great loot that I sold for a fair amount of caps.

Ghost Town Gunfight had come to an end and Goodsprings came out on top. Next, it is time to wander down to Primm to figure out more about the men who shot me and what the NCR is planning to do about the Powder Gangers. A few Geckos and Coyotes could not stop me! But I needed a break, haha! So I parked it on the I-15, just south of the westernmost Powder Gangers camp.

2h 28m

So I kept going through the tutorial - went down to kill geckos with Sunny Smiles, picked up the Suave Gambler's Hat, was attacked by Barton Thorne, saw what was left of Johnny Five Aces, was warned about Sunset Sarsaparilla Star Bottle Caps by Malcolm Holmes, explored every house in Goodsprings along with the Schoolhouse and the Cemetery. Joe Cobb showed up and started making trouble at the Prospector's Saloon. Trudy ran him off and I fixed her radio. Instead of searching for Ringo, I went down to the New California Republic Correctional Facility to meet the leader of the Powder Gangers.

Here we go - starting a fresh New Vegas playthrough! The Fallout propaganda worked! It is a two fold decision: I love New Vegas and the Fallout TV show has me itching to play, then there's the fact we are heading to Vegas in a little over a week! So I'm excited to play and experience one of my all time favorite games once again.

Built a new character, left Doc Mitchell's, and spoke to Victor. Haven't made it too far but I did set the foundation for my most overpowered New Vegas character yet! Well, for a vanilla console run anyway, haha!

29

1h 3m

Worked on wrapping up the last few quests and enjoyed using my new skeleton skin with the creepy wings - felt like an edge lord, haha!

28

4h 6m

BIG gaming hours last night - I had to cope with the bombshell news that Kane and Brook were pregnant.... THEY'RE HAVING A CHILD!!!! It still does not seem real... Got a Victory Royale though so that was cool.

27

1h 28m

Explored a good portion of the Siofra River area - it really is beautiful. Lauren watched me play and then we got into a call with her mom and Lindsey. I was blunt about Lauren and I getting married and how I wanted the families to meet, haha! But we learned Johnny is sick again, it worries me that they are not keeping him safe...

25

0h 43m

Played some more on the Xbox! Lauren watched this time and I got to show her the chaos of PvP, haha! I do not think it will convince her to play, though. Did some Gold Saucer shenanigans and called it a night!

23

1h 46m

Finished the Weeping Peninsula by exploring Castle Morne. The narrative of the dungeon is interesting but you go through it so fast that it doesn't feel as impactful as it should... It's still atmospheric and the boss arena is one of my favorites. Next is the Siofra River!

1h 26m

Played FFXIV on the Xbox for the first time! And we party wiped on Ultima Weapon three times because the Sage refused to heal anyone, haha! But still, the novelty of getting to play one of my favorite PC games on the Xbox is worth it.

22

1h 33m

Worked on the Midas Floor is Lava quests while I waited for FFXIV to download to my Xbox - not the biggest fan of that mode...

19

1h 34m

No wins this time... Making some head way in the Battle Pass Quests - interested in what they will do with Midas!

18

0h 35m

Finished exploring the western portion of the Weeping Peninsula: took down the first Walking Mausoleum, visited the Isolated Merchant, and took the Tower of Return to Lyndell. Next stop - Castle Morne.

17

2h 27m

Kane and I rocked some ranked matches - we had a lot of fun! We both pulled off some pretty crazy moves; however, I was mostly making decisions that got us eliminated... I am going to work on being better so I improve as a player and a teammate! :)

0h 36m

Still chipping away at the West side of the Weeping Peninsula. I unlocked the Fourth Church of Marika, so if I ever need to slaughter thousands of penguins for their feet again, that door is opened for me.

16

1h 15m

Went through the Impaler's Catacombs, did the Forest Lookout Tower, explored the Church of Pilgrimage, defeated the Erdtree Avatar, pilfered the Tombsward Ruins, and defeated the Hero of Zamor at the Weeping Evergaol. And I still have more than half the Weeping Peninsula left, haha!

13

0h 43m

Explored some in the Weeping Peninsula - killed one of the Night's Calvary for Lauren (she thought I was an epic gamer)! Picked up Rodrika's Crimson Hood from Stormveil - hoping to get the whole next area searched and head of to Lurnia.

11

1h 43m

Completed Stormveil Castle and had zero trouble. Decided I would try and be fun by using a Mimic Tear will I power-stance greatswords - results exceeded expectations with devastatingly good killtime. I also progressed all NPC questlines as far as possible - trying to make sure I juggle each one and find all the 2nd playthrough items I need.

10

2h 20m

Made it through a bigger chunk of Stormveil Castle - I have explored about every nook and cranny. Once I am done talking to all the NPCs, I will go stomp Godrick the Grafted!

09

2h 38m

Break is over - the new season is out! They did a Greek myths and gods theme, which is neat. Not necessarily my favorite aesthetic but the new weapons are enjoyable like the Zeus lightning and the Gatekeeper shotgun. Movement options have also improved (the Icarus Wings are great if you are not trying to hit someone with the attack...). Not sure if I will care that much when it comes to this season but I will certainly play with friends!

2h 16m

Got my checklist filled out and now I am ready to dive back into Elden Ring! Brice ordered the Dark Souls Trilogy so I am even more inspired! It felt so nice to steamroll Margit and waltz right into Stormveil Castle.

05

0h 46m

Spent time checking off a nest list I found that has all weapons, armor, talismans, spells, etc. Then I went through a random mine in the Weeping Peninsula - felt unstoppable powerstancing!

04

2h 20m

Finally finished the entire mosaic! It took forever but now I can finally take a break from this game for awhile...

03

1h 39m

Found a new farming method for the mosaic - go to Rebel's Roost and hit the skinny side of the walls. I farmed 60 pieces the whole match and still got a Victory Royale, haha!

01

1h 50m

Did a large chunk of the Odyssey Quests - I am intrigued with what they are setting up. Not the biggest fan of finding hundreds of mosaic tiles around the map...

February, 2024

29

0h 35m

Decided to level up the Sword of Milos - it is pretty powerful and fits into my build nicely! Going to try to power stance it and the Blasphemous Blade through all of Limgrave.

28

0h 18m

Played for a little bit and saw all the crazy new quests! Seems interesting. But the main accomplishment was getting the last of the Family Guy gear from the Battle Pass!

24

3h 38m

Finished the TMNT event and did all of the storyline quests! I also used the Vbucks I had to purchase a quest pack. That helped me get the Surfin' Bird Family Guy emote. After this season, I think I'll take a break...
