"Making Assumptions is the fun part of being a Detective.”

A cryptid, a murder, a tourist trap, and a missing hat. Had a really fun time with this point and click detective game. Story was predictable, but I enjoyed collecting the clues and interacting with the unique characters. Can't wait to play the sequel.

“I'll do the quests, become the hero, and win over big sis!”

So a game about a Lil Gator exploring a park with his friends and older sister home from college. This should be a fun, easy breezy time right? Right? As an older brother who remembers doing very similar things with my younger sister, this game hit me so hard.
Who had me crying over a cartoon gator on their Bingo card? Absolutely incredible game, and a perfect snapshot of why I love Indies so much.

And…. We're…. Back. After many weeks away I finally finished another game from the backlog. The Spirit and the Mouse was a short, cute little story puzzle platformer starring a mouse helping restore power to a French city. The characters and story weren't that memorable, but I enjoyed my time with it.

A fun, and surprisingly dark, game about Plants. Loved the multiple endings, and how choices matter on which plants you give to which people. The gameplay was nothing special, but the puzzles were fun and the right amount of difficult.

Everyone has a Stage.
Ooohh boi I did not expect to get so emotional from this game. Both my Partner and I teared up multiple times. The emotional story combined with the music. Not too mention ||the D&D sections|| Highly recommend this one!

Just finished up Bahnsen Knights, the latest game in the Pixel Pulps series from LCB Game Studios. Like the first two, the art style is the clear standout here. Unfortunately this was my least favorite of the 3, as the story didn't really hook me. I did enjoy the ||“twist” of the recurring character Lou though||

Just finished up Varney Lake, the second in the Pixel Pulps series from LCB Game Studios. A visual novel game with an incredible art style, and a pulpy, darkly humorous story that reminds me of the old Tales From the Crypt comics.

This is my first experience with a Rusty Lake game and I must say I really enjoyed my time with it. Excellent Artwork make this point and click a joy to look at. While not overtly scary, there was something a bit off to the whole presentation that kept me on edge as the dread-inducing story unfolded. Some clever puzzles. I'll definitely be checking out more from this developer.

Just finished What Comes After. Didn't know I needed a good cry on this Sunday afternoon, but damn what an emotional experience. A very short narrative adventure about the importance of life and what we do with the one we're given.

Also as someone who is going to lose their cat of 20 years very soon.... This game broke me

Took about an hour to get both endings. An atmospheric, dread inducing puzzler about a husband trying to bring his wife back. Lots of Cosmic Horror.
