It's a higher fidelity version of Nintendogs (now with cats) but ultimately it didn't recapture the appeal the original had. One struggle this game has is that the touch screen and the 3D screen are different screens, so the game has to choose between letting you see the animals in 3D and letting you pet them. It's awkward, and I think they chose wrong in prioritizing seeing the animals over petting with them. The animals are still cute, but it just didn't work nearly as well. Ah well.
