At least it came with a Nerf gun.

My lack of Pac-Man skills have never been more evident.

The story is fairly standard and nothing too memorable. The gameplay is a bit of a mixed bag. At times it feels Ace Combat-esque, while at others it just feels like a shooting gallery in space. It’s a good game, but I can’t help but feel that it could’ve been much better.

Fun little platformer that doesn’t overstay its welcome.

I played this game a lot as a kid, and had rather fond memories of it. Since it recently became free on Xbox, I wanted to revisit it to see if it was actually good or if it was just the nostalgia talking.

Thrillville: Off the Rails isn't quite sure what it is. It falls between being an amusement park management game and a collection of arcade games. Neither aspect of it being too impressive as a standalone game. The park management is fairly dumbed down, as the game is clearly geared toward younger players. Meanwhile, the arcade games aren't good enough to play on their own over an extended period of time.

Despite all this, the game is great for what it is. There are 50 arcade games total, with genres like racing, platforming, first-person shooters, and beat-em-ups all being covered. Some games are obviously better than others, but the sheer amount of variety and depth involved makes it impressive. The park management is decently fun in its own right, even if it's basically RollerCoaster Tycoon-lite. There is not one great individual feature of this game. but the whole is certainly greater than the sum of its parts.

Fun but the matches take way too long.

2017

A decent time killer if nothing else.

Truly an elite game from the iPod era.

One of the better endless runner games out there.

Look how they monetized my boy.

Released by Donut Games in 2009, Rat On A Scooter XL has you play as a rat on a scooter, as the title suggests. Your goal is to grind on rails Tony Hawk-style while acquiring as much cheese as possible. It's a decent little game, and it makes me miss the era of the app store when creative endeavors topped the charts instead of extremely monetized ad-laden games.

My memory of this game is very vague.

Essentially a more accessible and toned-down version of Smite. My only complaint is that Bacchus is not on the roster, his inclusion would immediately make this a five-star game.
