I don't really recommend it, but I don't think that's necessarily the game's fault either. The voice cast is all unknowns and scabs from an industry-wide voice acting strike, and Disney's IP chokehold forced this game to exclude X-Men and Fantastic Four characters for sinister self-serving reasons. This game had everything going against it on its way into the oven, no wonder it leaves half the impression of its predecessor despite double the content.

This was the Toys-to-life game that got me, though I only bought a couple of the extra content packs. Very fun time, taking advantage of IP crossover in a way Lego games may unfortunately never do again. Not perfect but I'm glad it happened.

Top 3 Lego game, easy. Kino. Goat. Just wish it had a cool 100% reward but it's fun enough to get away with not having one.

Top 5 Lego game, easy. Kino. Goat.

I liked it plenty when I played it (as an adult, never played as a kid, wonder if this affects my thoughts) but after giving it some time, I don't think its lasting impression was quite up to snuff compared to its contemporaries. One of the better 100% rewards for sure, but I don't think this game's restrained sense of scope matches the big, bombastic movies it's adapting. Not a bad game, just not a cut above at all. Oh well!

Fuck J.K. Rowling. Do not continue to financially support the Harry Potter brand.

Anyway, compared to Years 1-4, this feels "just okay" to me--an unfortunate step down from one of the highlights of classic-style Lego games. The QOL improvements are nice but are applied to stories that much like their respective movies, are drifting away from the whimsical initial selling points of the series and towards more dour circumstances--something I just don't think these games benefit from. It's worth finishing the story after investing in it with Years 1-4, but the 100% reward is now a stud fountain, don't bother going for it.

Anyway, possibly my favorite classic-style Lego game structurally. It refined the concepts of Lego Indy 2's free roaming connective tissue so it's actually fun to occupy, and progress being made in it besides the typical 6 levels per film fills out and immerses you more in the experience. This game also has an actually cool 100% reward that feels worth the effort, something I'd have liked to see for some of the Lego games I enjoy even more than this one. It's just a shame this solid Lego title had to be built around this IP of all things.

When I was a kid and saw the trailer for this in Lego Star Wars, I got the game sometime later and found myself quickly asking "...Where's his gun?"

Not really knowing what an archaeologist is but watching Indiana Jones misleads you about the tools of the job.

I softlocked the Two Face fight and it was possibly the biggest Lego game bug I've ever experienced. Great game.

Half-Life 3 better come out in my lifetime just as a reparations payment for the fact I played this fucking steaming pile of dogshit. It is genuinely that infuriatingly bad.

The half a star is for gunships being a non-issue thanks to new weapons that shred them like paper. It is admittedly satisfying to experience that instead of HL2's rocket-aiming rigamarole. But you can probably do that in Gmod too so who fuckin' cares.

Insomniac should've made a Daredevil game their next Marvel priority after Spidey instead of Wolverine.

The open world structure here is on the cumbersome side for Lego games, but the characters feel leagues more fun to use and rewarding to unlock than ever before.

The 'A Link to the Past' of Lego games to me--undeniably important for the direction they went in going forward, but outdone by those very follow-ups many times over.

Got to try it at an ex's house. For inventing a new subgenre, it could have gone a lot worse. better than melee btw
