Absolutely amazing game. My first Metroid title and I really enjoyed it. The puzzles and map design kept me guessing the whole way through. I think the only aspect I didn't really like were the boss fights. They were so good but honestly I prefer a health bar and I'm too jazzed about the shooter combat. Surprinsingly ai didn't even really mind that the bosses could take a while to defeat as the difficulty curve felt about right.
My only other niggle is some of the speed booster puzzles, they requure incredibly precise inputs and good reflexes which can make them frustrating!!

Ahhhh my childhood. Replaying this again was fun! Despite being on 'hard' mode I blasted through the story mode in just a few hours and then played for a bit in free mode. Still very enjoyable. My only complaints is that your citizens require SO MANY goods and even on free mode with around 10 islands under my command I was still struggling to meet needs.
The animation style and music are the best bits of this game. Its let down by some very frustrating bosses and controls which can make even the simplest task horrendously difficult.
Nevertheless, I look forward to playing the HD version and doing a 100% playthrough to see all the sidequests I missed!

I love this game but the fact is I played with the cheats too much as a kid and now I struggle to play it normally (although to be fair the grind in this game has always been criticised!)
I remember getting very stuck on this and not being able to find the answer because the game was brand new...maybe one day I'll finish it...
I've never actually managed to 'complete' my garden but the countless hours of fun more than make up for never seeing the mystery pinata that I never managed to make appear despite all my efforts. Oh how I wish there was a new game!!!
I played this game so much even though for the first few years I actually didn't know how to treat the animals and my practice got really bad reviews but then I learne dhow to do it properly and I know everything off by heart now and the horse riding is so much fun and basically this game is my childhood
