really cool way to piece together a story. prepare to feel.

Good story, good art, good h scenes. There is great variety in terms of situations, pairings, fantasy creatures, and orientations in the h scenes.

the peak of games as interactive movies. the choices matter about as much as you'd ever want them to, and maybe more than some want them to.

a game that is just actually fun and exciting to play. the roguelite elements are good

game makes more sense in the digital version than paper version. really smart adaptation, and a really good board game to start with

it's simple and 2 buttons, but at least there's a lot of characters, stages, and songs.

gameplay is rough around the edges but still functions well as a roguelite. obviously if you're playing this game it's for the vibes and art, which remain cool even on your 50th run

pretty much saved the genre. deep and satisfying mechanics with a lot of meat on the bone. dev support is usually great, but has declined a bit the bigger they've gotten

a cool concept, and it is fun to play. might be better off as a straight up pve game though.

apollo justice has a rough introduction. everybody just wants phoenix back, and apollo's magic artifact just detracts from his character

i thought the dark pictures would get better after this, boy was i wrong

GH1 honestly didn't activate my brain stems and provide any believability. GH2 is so old and yet delivers on setlist and audio/visual/controller synchronicity

I would rate isaac at every stage of its life 4.5 stars. its fun, its gambling, its min-maxing, and it's bet hedging. it is a perfect encapsulation of the balance of powers that makes roguelites fun

a charming and emotional story of time travel and ethics. the main advantage over the anime is the extended alternate routes, which considering the circumstances of canon, is very important. plus where else are you going to get 2000's era 4chan references played completely straight?
