I could be wrong, but I think this was the origin of squad-based single player games. Stuff like X-Men Legends and Conflict. Not as prevalent today, but always really cool core mechanic. Not huge on the permadeath for each individual syndicate member, in games like this I always find myself save scumming to protect my entire squad every mission. (which i understand has made this significantly harder than it needs to be)

It's a ton of fun regardless. Its hilarious driving around with the persuadertron and picking up as many people as possible before eventually taking over all the enemy syndicate members as well. I have always loved mind control mechanics.

Pathing is BRUTAL in this, though. Not only to characters move to points in ways that dont always make sense, but they also sometimes just teleport onto higher or lower levels as well. Can get pretty annoying, and often gets Agents killed.

The Panic ability is awesome though. It's cool just kicking back and watching your dudes shred everyone coming at them. Similarly the self-destruct is brutal when you need it. Sometimes i strategize by throwing a random Agent i dont usually use just to blow him up at an important point (for instance, the Alaska mission)

Great play imo, this one holds up a lot better than a lot of other early 90's games. 100% worth picking up, this game will probably be on every old or cheap laptop that comes into my possession.

Not gonna lie man I thought this was straight bootyass.
