Before ripping this game a new one, I want to talk about the good parts of the game. The graphics are fairly nice and pretty. If the frame rate isn't lagging itself into oblivion, it can feel nice to ride along the paths looking at the scenery. I enjoyed exploring and seeing new areas. There is a bit of variety of places on the island like deep dark forests to open sandy beaches.

The controls for horse riding handles decently well. It doesn't work too well in certain cramped areas but was fine in the more open areas of the game.

But it pretty much ends there. The game has a lot of glaring issues that pile up to make the game tedious and annoying. An "open world" with a lack of fast travel just stretches this game out unnecessarily. The world itself is lacking and empty. The NPC's practically have no impact at all.

The ranch building and management is so glaringly unpolished and glitchy. Buildings you've already built can disappear and not load in but still prompt you to build it. It may not even come back even after reloading.

The main story is very short. I didn't even realize I had completed the main story at all, as nothing informed me I was done. There are a total of 10 very short main story quests for a large open world game. Half of these main quest story lines are tutorials. There are side quests (about 2 after the main story), but honestly completing them feels like tedium.

Overall, it feels like an incomplete and unpolished game. There's a lot of promise to it as a horse game; there's ideas they nailed correctly but the execution of it is severely lacking.

Played with a friend and we had a blast. I loved messing around and finding some of the mini games we got to do together. The game had great cinematic moments as well.
