Within the first few minutes of loading this up I was bombarded with pop-ups about microtransactions, seasonal events, and cosmetics that genuinely didn't make any sense yet because they were referring to mechanics I hadn't even seen.
This might be the game that killed my love of enormous worlds (for their value). As much as I played a lot of hours and deeply vibed with the Norse aesthetic and lore, it's simply too corporately made - the connection to the overall AC arc and gameplay style is paper thin, the loot is trite and unrewarding, and plenty of things were just a slog to get through.
I finished the main story and abandoned any remaining points of interest, and didn't buy the DLC. Time for smaller games again.

A very pleasant time that reminded me of the slightly analog vibes of the mid-2010s where a game could be mostly nice sounds and vibrations on your Dual Sense controller.
I felt relaxed while playing it and probably listened to a good podcast. A good game for your friend who thinks they don't like videogrames. Don't know what an Abzû is.
