Ultimately TOTK is a better game than BOTW however for me, it didn't have the same sense of wonder and discovery that BOTW had. BOTW felt so alien and mysterious with its world and its systems of weather, cooking and more. It was very grabbing from the start to the credits. TOTK adds a lot of new stuff but the mystery of it all that's new fades very quickly. The underground and the sky islands do not hold the same sense of wonder for the whole game and they become predictable and repetitive. The updated world map also suffers as updates don't change the overall feel and challenges each zone has except the major cities. Ultra-hand building becomes almost obsolete with a goblin glider or hoverbike.
Even a bigger disappointment was how the game inherits the flaws of BOTW. Visually dungeons deliver but mechanically they are very simple and not satisfactory for a Zelda dungeon experience. Shrines are very simple and fail to explore the amazing ultra-hand mechanics to their full potential. The weapon system falls apart in the end game as weapon slots expend and it becomes somehow even more tedious than BOTW.

There is a lot this game does right and I loved my time with it. When you are flying your machines over the skies, using a physics system to create your own fun this game provides an unmatched experience. However in the end I can't stop feeling like they could have built something far greater using the same world map.
