I absolutely understand the controversy of this game, but I adore this game to death. The story is beautifully well told, the gameplay is fun, albeit a bit clunky at times. I really wish CDProjeckt just delayed the game more to polish it, and its an absolutely stupid thing they did releasing it the way it did. But if you are interested in the story, the world, or the characters, please give this game a chance.

The original is great, but the remake pretty much improves everything from the story to the gameplay. There are some lines of dialogue I wish they kept but I can see why they were removed as they tried to make the story a little more serious. Leon and Ashley's relationship is probably my favorite aspect of the story, thanks to the dialogue. Just like the original, Ashley definitely has a crush on Leon, but she keeps it sort of hidden and you can tell by her facial expressions, whereas the original Ashley will make some very questionably sexual pokes at Leon. I'm glad this was changed because it was pretty corny (not bad, just goofy). In fact a lot of the goofy dialogue in the original was changed to be a lot more sincere and more realistic in the remake, which really helped the story.
The gameplay is OH SO MUCH better. Leon had to stop in his tracks everytime he wanted to shoot in the original, and that is thankfully changed. You had to open the inventory everytime you wanted to switch weapons/grenades, and that got changed with a shortcut system by using the d-pad. A lot of aspects of gameplay that seemed unfair in the original were improved upon to be made a lot less unfair, such as better map design and better QTEs. The original QTEs were honestly horrific, it was just constant button mashing. Some of the QTEs were removed and replaced with a cutscene or can be shortened with your knife coming in handy.
Fantastic remake, can't wait for the RE5 remake

I had a decent amount of fun with the multiplayer, and the gameplay is pretty well put together, but the campaign is absolutely terrible. Marketing made it seem like Master Chief was main character when we only get like 4 levels playing as him. The rest of the levels you play Locke, who just sorta shows up. Not to mention a lot of story aspects wouldn't make sense unless you read the BOOKS. I don't know a whole lot of people who read the Halo books besides some hardcore fans, but the fact that story aspects don't even make sense unless you read the books is a terrible writing decision.
